With heat records being set all summer here in Maine, it's finally getting cooler. Just in time for the Fair season. While i've been to all the fairs locally here, it's the Freburg Fair that's really great. If any of you "Ploppers" plan on being here the first week in October, take a drive over there. Admission is $12. Foods expensive too! But as a harness racing fan, it a pretty cool "day at the races". I believe the grandstand was built in the late 1800's. And it looks it too! LOL! The track is packed for the races. It's a lot of fun. So come on up to Maine for Fair season. It's pretty cool!

See you at the fair.

How about that first race win pool of $200 what a joke!
-
Yeah, not much money at the Fairs. It is fun though!

You go to watch these races for the entertainment aspect, not the gambling aspect, unless you like to 'step on your own money' at the windows!!

It's a really fun time!
-
They will be televised nationally with bets accepted on ADWs this year.
Been to em all....Psyched!
-
Bello.....it really is a great time!

The Maine fair circuit is nothing but horse abuse. These piece of shit horsemen race the horses 3 and sometimes 4 times per week and you fucking assholes are on here talking about what a good time it is. FUCK YOU!
-
But don't you say that about most of the racing circuits?

3-4 races per week is abuse, plain and simple

I agree 100%. I never knew that occurred. I thought they go one a week from fair to fair. I am going to ask about that.

An owner of mine called me up one day about 20 years ago and said I just bought a 3 year old that was racing and winning on the Maine fair circuit. The horse was shipped to me and when I looked at its papers, it showed 12 races in the last 30 days.

I don't like that. I am going to ask the judges about that.

Windsor Fair, right around the corner, best place to watch races

3-4 races per week is abuse, plain and simple How many race 3 or 4 times a week? I can think of 1 and that was at Winsor fair her home fair and they race 9 days.

fairs are great. sadly the track conditions are not great. skowhegan is like racing on cement. topsham was very soft one day good another. windsor good unless it rains. racing quality is decent.
would be nice now that adws are taking fairs, that the info gets to trackmaster. i only use trackmaster and off track its only option but sometimes you get it others its not up. could be a good thing the adws but programs need to be available asap.
food at fairs is the best.
