Why is the 3rd elimination 2 days later and will force them to race in the final 5 days later?  If I’m reading that right, that’s one of the dumbest things I’ve ever seen!

Horses used to race two or three times in one day. This is no big deal.

Has to be the first time ever without a double header Saturday? Less & less horses around, compounded year over year, short fields, depleted stakes program etc. Too bad because it’s one of a select few venues that promotes racing!

Double header on gold cup day on August 17. If my memory is correct, the only double header in the last few years has been gold cup final day.

I live in New England and it's going to be a 10 hour 35 minute drive for me.  With layovers, a plane ride from Boston was going to take the same amount of time.

Some amazing ticket prices tonight, weather terrible all day but turned out great.

The trials are going to be pretty intense

Sat night
R15
First heat

SAVE AMERICA.#5  James Macdonald/Jamie Smith ((which fucker does this beard Jamie Smith impersonate).
Rolled over them after two weeks off.

BINGE ON YANKEE #8 Jody Jamieson gets position early from 8 post. Hangs on for second

AMERICAN HISTORY. unimpressive 3rd from rail

these three qualify for next sat.night.

R#16 coming. Another qualifier in moments

2nd heat
R16

#3 FORTIFY James McDonald once more/Chris McKay
#6 COVERED BRIDGE Jody J for Jeff Gillis..I'd think Jordan Stratton would be in next Sat night final again to drive last yrs winner again

#7 Barrieaus TwinBtuffenouff a quality 3rd the hard way.

These three are in next Sat night final
at midnight local time.

Last heat Mon night

Do you love that announcer?  I don't.  Way over the top.  Had to shut him up before the quarter both races.

I for one was glad to see a lot of "local" participants----and not Moreau and Burke sending multiple horses.

Good for the sport and the business.

Open draw for the final

I think the winners should get 1-5 like most major stakes do now

not a huge fan of picking your post

but an elimination winner getting the 8 hole encourages horseman to race for the top 3 instead of winning in the elimination

The King won 5 so far today.
Pretty good for a guy that still
be serving a suspension.
Also does the new rule leaning back in the bike apply to him??

the demographic the bigger story..it's Old Home Week where the young come back to visit fam and friends or just about to leave for school or work out of area.
35 and under out in big numbers along w the 40 and ups ..thu - Sat and weather fantastic.  Harness racing history there in PEI generations deep.

well done once more and in the feature the repeat winner from 23 Covered Bridge and Stratton. Logical top two choice.
