Does it really make the horse rsce smarter or faster

I never understood b plugs were still in

Plugs were pulled

Can any horse on here explain

Earplugs are for horses that get a little too aggressive when they can’t see the other horses. If they got closed bridle or Kant see backs then popping the plugs in the stretch gets them more interested

drove alot of races never seen one jump out of their skin when plugs are popped mostly just to keep them calmer in post parade
