His father, Norman, could really team one when the $$ was down..3 wide down the backstretch at Roosevelt... like Frankie P would say "horn honking, headlights flashing"!!

He also was a top 10 national money driver for several years and had some FFA horses like Mickie Rodney, Leaders Dream and Sirota Anderson.  He died waaay too young at 63!

Norman played on the big stage and won. Wife, and Jeff's mother, a well healed jewelry designer.

Norman was a real horseman, had some very good owners, good backing, and played the game at the top levels. Jeff hung around the barn early on, learned what he wanted to, and never really had the desire to become a true, all-around horseman. He didn't have to. His family did well. His mother had a successful business and Norman actually did well for himself, saved, put money away, etc. Jeff is a part-timer, 5% trainer, and maybe the same as a driver. He's safe, competent, and won't hurt anyone out there.

You have to remember he was adopted. Not Normans kid.
