Yes, it has for horse racing.  Karen is still the racing secretary though and I don't want it to close until I bury my head between those thighs for an afternoon delight.

Isn't she like 60 years old?

You must have skin cancer if you want to bury your face in that toxic wasteland.

I always thought Freehold was a picturesque track with lakes and flowers. A nice facility. Great racing and honorable horsemen.

Anyone who thinks today’s Monticello is nicer than Freehold must be on crack. At MR you are lucky if you can find a bag of potato chips or a roll of toilet paper. At least at Freehold there are normal amenities that anyone would expect at a harness track. Plus the area immediately around Freehold is modern with all sorts of restaurants, a big mall and lots of retail stores. Compare that to the town of Monticello. The main street is Broadway that could be named Ghetto Broadway where the highlight is the Miss Monticello diner.

Get real will you. Not the Jews, Christians, Muslims or any other people frequent this track. If anyone is going to the Catskill area in the summer it is to swim, boat, hike and maybe screw like bunnies under the stars. But what I guarantee is none of the tourists are getting anywhere near this once must go track because it has become a pigsty.

When they got the slots, management did everything they could to discourage people from attending and it was a huge success. The big fuck you to the locals was when they discontinued the 4th of July fireworks show that attracted thousands of people every year.

Sounds like those small out East tracks have huge issues . Not just racing issues but society issues as well. Haven’t heard much positive about any of the tracks mentioned. Freehold sounds awful smelling like urine and having homeless sleep there . Buffalo sounds dirty and grimy. Monticello another one that’s a combination of the above 2 . Future doesn’t look good out East .

Is there a nice 1/2 mile track in America? Most from from the 50's, never really updated. Management changed, never tried to cultivate new bettors, didn't really give a shit about the races. No they do the bare minimum required. Now it's welfare. It isn't going to get any better. Sad but true

I would say the nicest of the half mile tracks may be Saratoga Raceway. It is clean and very close to downtown Saratoga Springs. The racing is pretty good for a B/C type track. I find the staff very friendly as are the locals.

What about those in the mid Atlantic region ? Harrington or Ocean downs ?? Looking at the website Ocean downs looks lovely .

freehold horses are not good enough for Delaware. They would fit in Ocean Downs but won't get in..  Actually, they can race at the Meadowlands with the race conditions they are writing. How about a 68 and under TM at the Meadowlands last week?  (that's like $4,000 claimers. -some less) That's the cheapest TM class at Freehold and Meadowlands carded it: same cheap horses racing, much nicer track and a bigger purse. only an hour drive too

Love the Afternoon Delight. Once saw a man passed out in the bathroom with a flower pot busted over his head.

What’s with all the people saying the place smells like piss and urine ? One guy said Grand central in NYC smells better . Are there really homeless people sleeping there ?  You guys out East are really burying this place .

If you don't like the place do not go do not watch or just shut the fuck up and let the people who do enjoy it race.

I agree Wiseowl.

The 2 of you are exactly why everything in the industry has gone steadily to crap over the decades.
