Title: Big M n Karl
Post by: White Rabbit on May 18, 2024, 09:19:45 AM
Headed to the Big M tonight to race and watch Karl. We will be away Hambo day so we have one in and I want to see Karl up close. Any think he can trot in sub50 this summer?

Let me know what you think of him. Saw him last year at Lexington wasn’t one of those horses you walked by and knew they were a good one

Don’t get me wrong he looks great on the track.  Just was less than impressive in person. I’ve seen many great horses go across track but only a few were the wow horses when they walked past. Muscle Hill and Beach were 2 that stick out as oh damn that is a good one in the paddock

I just watched warm ups and am going to take a $50 exacta with Akes horse for 2nd. Karl looks like he floats over the ground

He still has a hitch behind and when he gets pressured I think he will explode.

Not the pay off I’d was looking for, but got to see Karl live.
I don’t care what anyone says about Nancy she let me and my wife get in the picture

No apologies, I appreciate any extra info. I just happened to catch Akr brush his horse a last 1/4 on 28 flat. If I would have seen Wallins horse chances are I would have used him.
Am one of the old old guards who still takes a stopwatch to the track and clocks warm ups

The last time I did that was back in the 80s when there was still real money in the pools and you could make money betting.  Much easier to toss out horses that just look horrible when you see them in person.  Nowadays its 15 seconds on the computer which just screws you up if you get a bad camera shot.

How about Jiggy Jog S? 1:50 flat off one qualifier. Ake is the best at getting a trotter ready...off a layoff.

That was monstrous by Jiggy Jog for a first start. Not sure the FFA ranks are going to be that deep this year so she could really dominate. I wonder why they didnt want to get her ready for the Elitlopp
