Title: Mohawk Friday
Post by: whiptherabbit on March 15, 2024, 11:25:42 AM
Balmy temps today should make for some good racing…

Race#3-#2 BROOKDALE J MAC 5-1 ML Phenomenal looking qualifier & off that run, James choice in here. Still a risky play with recent breaking issues, expect him off the pace, if he gets covered up , can fly by in the stretch.

Race#5-#5 MOMENTARY CONTROL 5-1 Makes her 4 year old debut off three consecutive qualifiers, each progressively better, last two big speed coming home. This is a competitive bunch, expect Jones to take back and see what she has in the stretch, banked over 200k last year.

Race#6-#7 CATCH MY BREATH 7-2 ML Two stellar efforts to begin her career, zero chance of getting morning line assessment in here, but she won’t be the fave as #10 will go off below even money, rightfully so. I’d expect Fillion to get her involved early tonight.

Race#9-#3 SOUTHWIND DOMINO 7-2 Risky proposition off the breaks , puts the trotting hopples back on after recent qualifier. This field lacks a standout, his best effort gets it done in here.

Best of luck!  tmbz1

I like majority of horses who race off the pace tonight, have to watch for speed bias in first few races  tmbz1

Race 4 #8.....not sure if he is fast enough, but the driver change is MASSIVE.
Race 8 #2....post relief will help.

race 9---#1 Ms. Frannie--takes a massive drop

draws the dreaded #1 post, which wins less than posts 2-8

if he can overcome that spot--should beat these

Unsure of the track condition, my guess, fast/good or good.

Going for cold numbers, 1 pick each race, total $51 investment W, WP, DD, P3, P4, P5.

1 - #2 Dividend, this un-raced at 2 yo filly, is she going to get better, I hope yes.  Time to grow up lil' gal you were an $80k purchase.

2 - # 7 So Much More, 2nd chance at a proper 2024 late entrance for the top bitch who used to beat up the boys.

3 - #5 Tamworth Boy, a very impressive qualifier with hopefully 5 seconds or more in the tank, I would of went with 2 but he likes to be skippity dippity at times.

4 - #8 Lion on Landon, looked great with the exception of the last driver Anita Ouellette on Women's Day making the gelding go in every direction in the stretch and still with great willingness to go forward and fast.  J Mac upgrade, say no more, these others ain't so much faster :)!

5 - #1 Powder Play, back in good hands with Roy, rail, first over and hopefully goodbye.

6 - #4 Betterwithglasses, lightly raced and formidable last year, great qualifier, probably has 3-4-5 seconds in the tank.  Safe to say the 9, and undefeated 7 & 10 might have a big problem mission control.

7 - #7 Better Be Donna N, what was Borth thinking last race lol, anyways back in rightful hands where the old gal can out class and likely out close them all.

8 - #2 She's Got It All, wow, look at her last 4 post positions, dropping, inside, Sylvain / Zeron get their 19% winning partnership like this, makes a whole lotta sense.

9 - #3 Southwind Domino, skippy of late here might have found the right pilot in JJ to bring the gelding back to staying flat and fast, respectable qualifier.  Lifetime mark is 154 3/5 on a good track if there is the slightest moisture, another possible plus too.

10 - #3 Bluemea Kiss, 10-1 odds morning line likely reflects the oddsmaker's feelings on Nicholas Boyd.  Maintaining form last 2, better post, slight drop, would love to see this 5 yo gelding respond with desire to win without the whip to vindicate he belongs here.

Wish you all well, very good luck to everyone tonight!   tmbz1

I have a couple. Nothing too exhilarating.
Race2  #6 Tells On A Roll : There's a new bitch in town. Younger, fresher, quicker. Plus post edge over main adversary.
Race 5 #5 Momentary Control : I agree with Whip on this one. Always like the three qualifier angle
when considering betting off a layoff. That last Qua. will win this. 54.4 last half. Nice horse.
  Good luck.

Macdonell, gsac.

0/6 training this year, 0/3 with this horse.  You've had 2 weeks to bring this thing back, the final time for this race today was 156 flat, your thing's time her last race was 155 4/5 and you finish last.

Note to the owner, fire this schmuck!!  ngc3

Rene Dion just said during pre race interview they are not trying in the 3rd race with the 7 horse (GIGITYGIGITYGIGTY)

Same thing Joe B did a few years ago at the Big M

told driver to take it easy and get around the track

5 - #1 Powder Play, back in good hands with Roy, rail, first over and hopefully goodbye.

Thank you Ladyterra for shaking it all up!

Before gate swung, I added a $1 place (by accident I meant to do $2), and backed my double and pick 3 with another $1 straight with the 11111111111111111!

Nice job Roy, thought he was going to break if you held him back anymore!  Thank you!  tmbz1

Total bet for the night now, $54.

7 - #7 Better Be Donna N, what was Borth thinking last race lol, anyways back in rightful hands where the old gal can out class and likely out close them all.

Well if you want to rip up $924.30 worth of dd and p3 potential payouts on a 4/5 10 yo mare, that's how its done, do the exact same stupid thing Borth did last week, to the same 1/2 mile fractions too.  There was never a doubt.  Plus I added $2W and $1DD, P3 and P4 bringing total bets for the night to $64.

Still up over $400 for the night with nice ROI's.  tmbz1

Macdonnell (and his wealthy car dealer magnate owner in this case) has the luxury of bringing a horse around at their own pace, and when they're good, they're great.  Very capable.  He's a legend, I was disrespectful, but I was raised around wiseguys, and I don't like to start the day off like that!

Christoforu is typically asleep as of a long while, he's left handed I think so you have to look closely at the body language for the whipping, must be making a killing betting (and family owning) I seek the driver change on him and get slightly excited.

Drury looks like he's having a seizure when he gets into it, it's hard to accuse him of not trying, just a very one dimensional driver.

I'm having a good night, a lot of fun with y'all too.  Let's keep it going and ALL make money too!!!  Thank you!!   tmbz1

I chose the wrong horse, LOL, and so did J Mac  ngc3 , the connections probably wanted a chance at a price, and they kind of got it.  Doubled all my Race 8-10 wagers for another $13 bringing total bets for the night to $77 red balloons.  Up $407 profit for the night.  tmbz1

1 and 1/5 off his lifetime mark but a real pleasure to see the horse in JJ's hands, good thinking Merner and way to go Jody!

Watching the qualifiers is a must, it don't always mean something but some of these horses chins are in their chest as they are fully restrained.  Big screen and suggesting to watch ALL the qualifiers, replays on it!   tmbz1

And handicap like every race is fixed or predetermined too!  Paranoia sometimes pays!!   ngc3

The driver colony has no love for Ol' Nick Boyd, that MF squeezed out at the 3/4 pole with no room and had something.  He tried.

From Race 1-10 my selections finished - Last, Last, W, 2nd, W, W, 6th, 3rd, W, 3rd.

Profit $422.80

Not bad for pocket change / basically bare minimum wagers on only one cold horse each race!   tmbz1
