Title: RIP LOUIE RAPONE
Post by: jupiter on March 11, 2024, 10:38:30 AM
RIP, what a family of racing. Louie and Rocky and the two Jr.s and Patsy, all gone now. Louie and Patsy are never really remember much, only by the few who watched them drive, on any sized track and any kind of horse. Back when overnight racing was at it's finest. They would even warm up a horse's last trip, we all did. LOL  The Caledonia Fair grounds crew all together

I had the pleasure to meet Lou down at the rail at pompano park about 20 years ago. Actually got a chance to chat with him also. I grew up in WNY and watched Patsy race too. I believe Patsy drove the classy trotter Manfred Hanover too. RIP.

I remember Rapone racing Pole Adios at Washington Park.
A FFA pacer, but a total run away.
Parade, score down, and go to the starting gate  lead by the outrider.
When the starter said GO, little Louie was nothing but a passinger.
