still an opportunity to gamble -- with $60/70k in the mutuel pools every race.

My guess is 90% of the trainers have to have a second job to make ends meet. I think to maybe make a decent living is you have to own and train these horses. As pointed out the purses are just ridiculous. How can a driver or trainer make much of a living getting only 5% of the purses. Especially with the cost of everything from feed, medication, and shipping so high. Do trainers make much of a profit with what they charge their owners to train their horses? And how in the world do owners make any profit nowadays?

Purses go up a bit in the spring/summer. Nothing earth-shattering, LOL. However, the cost of living in that area is very, very low, so everything is relative.

You're a fucking asshole. You know nothing about that area.

The cost of living is low in that area??? Have you been to a grocery store or a gas station lately? It doesn’t discriminate from what area you’re in. So you’re saying, if you take your family out for dinner around Monticello it’s all relative just the purses are nothing the food prices are lower to compensate? Kidding right… Must be nice looking at the world with rose colored glasses.

Yes, the cost of living is lower in that area than in the greater metropolitan area. Simply a fact. Sorry you are so mentally handicapped.

I believe the word that best descibes him is pompous.

Well I know the food at Monticello Raceway is much cheaper than Yonkers Raceway. That’s because MR doesn’t have any food. I know the toilet paper is much cheaper than the Meadowlands. That’s because MR management has a daily allotment of only one roll. Clearly labor is much cheaper when you only have one betting window. Road repairs approaching the track parking lot is very cheap since the same craters haven’t been filled in 10 years. Yes our man who says the cost of living in the Monticello area is definitely cheaper than the metro NY area is right on the money!

We mock what we are incapable of understanding. Remember, moving forward, my silence doesn't mean I agree with you. It simply means your stupidity never fails to amaze me.

So is the standard of living.

But when looking at your cost of doing business, PEDs are expensive everywhere!

perhaps you don’t understand it may have gone over your head… So you’re telling me the price of produce and fuel is cheaper at Monticello? The price of gas genius in Sullivan county is the same price that It is an Orange county. If you go to McDonald’s for a hamburger it’s the same price in Orange County then it is in Sullivan county. I paid a couple pennies more per gallon in Yonkers than I did in Sullivan county a couple of weeks ago. Property taxes is a different story. Much cheaper in Sullivan county. Do your homework dummy.

I wish we were lucky enough to experience silence from you. Unfortunately, you won't just shut up. As far as stupidity is concerned, I can tell you without any doubt that my morning bowel movement is smarter than you.

Unfortunately you can't tell the dummy that he probably lives in the dorms at Monticello.
