MOHAWK HAS BETTER STOCK RACING EVERY WEEKEND AND NOT 11 LITTLE DAVE YAROCKS DRIVING ON FRI KNIGHTS
JUST FACTS

Problem is Mohawk has 15 Dale Hiteman proteges sitting like statues gapping 30 lengths in 28.2 quarters.
-
Mohawk ZERO movement from 1/4 to 5/8ths. Gappers galore and about as much middle race movement as Yonkers. At least at M1 there is backside brushing and shots taken. Mohawk a snooze fest and has been for years.

Product is better...far more "suspect" drives in Canada! tmbz1

If the product is better the handle will reflect it. You may not like it but that is the definition of success at any racetrack not the casino revenue that fuels most purses

This happens all the time. Like them or not, these are the two top tracks. Period. Talk about handle, purses, grand circuit/stakes, status, all the other tracks are in second place. Also, none of it means anything when it comes to where and how you bet. Any serious player is going to look for certain things. They are mandatory to play a track regularly and seriously--full fields, competitive fields, and large pools to bet into. Yes, a low takeout would be nice too, LOL. I don't know one professional handicapper, or even a very serious player, who has Chester or Pocono Downs as their track.
Anyway, these two top tracks have a different style of racing. Period. Everybody says they know Ontario racing, but they don't. It was easy during the old OJC days--Mohawk and Greenwood. Somewhat different styles. Same circuit, barns, horses, etc. While you may still have some of that today, when the OJC changed, since then Ontario racing has become more seamless (with the B tracks). Plus the OSS. But, I would guess 95% of the people here are from the US. I don't know the demographic, but I think what would be common is people like me, my age, etc. Born and raised on NY half-mile track racing, migrated to the Meadowlands, and that became the track. Sure, everyone watches races from all over the country, even cards, for periods of time. You may even watch them regularly. But unless you do the work daily, play it, live it, over an extended period of time--it's not the track, your track--and you just won't be as attuned to Canadian racing. You have different tracks, size, and just have very different style of racing. You also have very different condition sheets. Just the nature of the beast. I've spent winters in FL when Pompano was open, and I've spent an entire meet in Ontario as well. If you are going to play a one off bet, follow a horse when he ships, or something like that, you do your homework. I recently followed a horse from NJ to Ontario. I happen to know both the NJ trainer, and the trainer who got the horse in Ontario. As soon as I saw him in to go, I started watching races, classes, weather, track bias, etc. But if you are going to bet regularly, you have to adapt. It's that simple.

Sorry my friend, nobody taking harness racing seriously anymore. I used to be a spot player and maybe bet 2+3 races a night. Now if go to the track with my wife and we both wager in the casino. It’s way Moreno fun and legit. I’ll walk over every half hour or so to see if anything is going on and then right back to my video poker machine.
