None...I don't even think track maintenance is there. They must be scraping Goshen Historic Track

No slots at Monti. Horsemen need to race to survive

I hope you don't need to go (slide) down it. Been there done that and always regretted it. But I survived.

Good Luck

They just cancelled the remainder of the card. Why did they even begin today?

Just canceled after nearly an hour and a half delay and minutes after they said they were going to race and announced some new scratches.

Can’t wait to see what the Wurtsboro hill looks like on rt 17

grandparents had a cabin on top of what was Wurtsboro Hills. Never went to church on Sundays as the milk trucks would sometimes lose their their air brakes coming down the long steep stretch into Wurtsboro on Rt. 17. The Church was at the bottom and the cars would be lined up by maybe 30 or 40 to park and many were just crushed with a big loss of life.  Rt.17 during the 50's and 60's was a death trap for certain. Monti was right up the road in the Jewish Alps.

The trick to driving in snow on rte 17 in bad snow storms is to use your transmission, if you have an automatic keep it in low gear 1 and go slow, maybe 30 mph. I have made that trip hundreds of times.
One time decades ago it started snowing and i told my wife lets head back to nyc before the state police close the highways.
I kept my car in low gear 1 and went down those big mountains 30 mph. 4wd vehicles were flying past me doing 60 or 70 and my wife started nagging me about going slow until we got to the bottom of the mountain and those same vehicles were in the center highway ditch.

I spent many summers at a bungalow colony in Wurtsboro run by Local 805.

The Jewish Alps has all but evaporated but they left their blacks behind to take over the city and create a shit hole out of it.

Hidden away in the Wurtsboro hills was a terrific French restaurant call La Mingatere. I probably spelled it wrong but the food was great!

Best casual places to eat in Monticello were Kaplans Deli and Canton Chinese restaurants. Does anyone remember the big, fat American lady who owned the place with her Asian husband who cooked? She could be a misery. On a snowy late evening I went with a friend after the races. We only wanted some egg rolls and wonton soup. She refused to serve us because she said we didn’t order enough food to get the table cloth cleaned. We were good, steady customers. She didn’t care..lol.

The Dodge Inn completes the superfecta with Bernies, La Mingotiere, and the Homestead.
For proximity to the Mighty M, the prime rib at the House of Lyons pretty darned good!

Downtown it was Kaplans or Miss Monticello diner for me.

Outskirts I yearned for Leftys.
