Title: Race numbers coming loose
Post by: GypsyDancer1 on January 05, 2024, 10:12:20 AM
Has anyone noticed how often saddle numbers are coming unsnapped? It scares me one could cause a wreck- surely it wouldn’t be that difficult to repair them on dark days? A harness shop could sew new straps on in no time, couldn’t they?

They could but tracks are too cheap to pay someone to do that. You don't know how many times my pads snap was broke and i had to tie the strap to the harness.

A back number came completely off by the horse sitting 2nd in the last turn at Northfield 1/17/24- why aren’t the drivers (even if no one else will) raising hell?

Yeah, Thats a f-ing joke! DSOA can't spare the money I was told because they have all those hundred thousand dollars and up a year jobs to pay!

Cancel races tonight for no excuse other than 3 drivers did not want to race tonight, and what was their comment about it? Crickets!

Contrast that bullshit with Vincennes in Paris... they ran last night in pouring/freezing rain with 12 horse fields on a muddy/heavy track while handling $500,000 a race.
