Title: Monticello Race 3 today
Post by: JL52 on December 20, 2023, 03:38:33 PM
Disclaimer- I made a very small profit on the race, so no groaning here. Looked like a rodeo. Outside 3 horses way off the gate, 1-5 favorite makes a bad break at the 3/8 almost causing several to go down. Yet Mac Sowers doesn’t pull him up, rather continues to lead, and makes another bad break in third turn. Jim Taggart has to be thanking his lucky stars today, having run into him not once, but twice.

Yep, and of course I needed Taggert in my p3 singles.

As far as the 1-5 favorite, the first break seemed to be all Sowers. Horse was fine until he gave him a hard yank, breakng the horse and scattering the field. It looked like Sowers thought he saw a ghost.

8 was helped by the confusion but was actually very usable ( but not by me) . 2 weeks back he was very well meant in the betting and must have been sick. and must have been sick. Harmon tough with these types.

I looked at the replay
Please enlighten me-what is the recall rule if any in NY? -2 of the horses were way off the gate....
Great job by Jimbo avoiding the breaker
Other drivers may not have been as fortunate..

I think only if the driver informs the starter of broken equipment, is there a recall. On the first ix, Taggart’s horses leg actually struck Sower’s wheel. I was ready to see a fracture.

Thanks for recall info
