Interested in Breeding to Lazarus N? 2024 Stud Fee - $5,000---reduced 50% over 2023!
-
he was never mighty
one decent horse
-
He was mighty down under. By the time he got here he was lame, never fully recovered from his injury there.
-
There has been a few overly hyped horses coming from down under
Auckland Reactor was supposedly a super horse and was beaten by Lou Pena's properly named horse named
Real Joke at Chester
San Simeon around 1980 was also talked of being great. He came here and his first start @ M1 he was 1-9 vs regular Open types and was beaten soundly
it happens
again here with Lazarus
-
i was speaking about him as a sire not a race horse
-
IMO, his offspring are like him, they get better with age and haven't cut it as 2yolds. Most trainers don't have the time to show much patience.
If I recall, They raced him sick (jimmy did) when he got here, he was not at his best
-
Down under sires, will always be at the bottom. They have no breeding!

Christian Cullen stood for a $ 10000 stud fee in Pennsylvania circa 2010. Was this a better value??

I can recall a few decent studs from down under.

Ernie Martinez did a good bull shitting job on this horse as a stallion. Im sure he still filled his pockets.
-
mighty, Lazarus?
are you kidding me?

Yeah but don't forget the big money spent on the stallion was the good folks at Taylor Made, in Lexington. The were significant ownership interest. They see guys like Martinez coming a mile away. I think there was to have been some desirable outcross possibilities but American breeding program is breed as close to together as possible and hope for freaks.

has Auckland Reactor sired any good horses?
-
correct xyz, called stacking and it works

I was referring to the "mighty" STUD fee they charged and now has fallen.

Never very attractive to any commercial breeder. A lot of hype and marketing simply for the backyard breeders. Ernie is good at that, and that's OK, that's his business. I never considered him a legit stallion prospect for commercial breeding. Sure, excellent horse down under, was NZ HOTY twice, pacer of the year, three or four times, and so on and so on. So he comes here and wins the Dan Patch and the Hoosier Park Derby. None of that made him attractive as a stallion to a commercial breeder.

You jerks talk like your losing money here when you have no interest in any stud just knock some ones horse bunch of losers.

Speak for yourself. Although I agree...they are always on the bottom.
