Good riddance. Reynolds sold out the horsemen to the boats to buy that farm

Not sure the 1/2 is in shape to use for training. It's been years since they had race horses just a breeding operation the past 8-10 years. Well kept by Jim and Nancy at their age while Jim's health has been the best for a number of years. While most like to blame him on recapture he wasn't the only one and they had a valid point at the time with thoroughbred racing edging toward weekend night racing. With the otb splits being set from thoroughbred getting the handle before 6pm harness received after 6pm. The problem with recapture would be the year it was put in place with the handle number being X. It wouldn't take more than a year for that handle to be under X letting track owners recapture. If X was a sliding number year over year it would have been a better but not perfect model.

Horseplopper swoodall said Reynolds was paid weekly paychecks by Langley and johnsons along with Ira and Duncan price. It was before my time so who knows what the hell happened. I always heard Reynolds had some real good horses

They had one real nice mare by Richess Hanover. Raced out east made some good money and some of her foals sold well.
What most don't know about recapture, Gov Edgar, and horse racing. When that deal was made Reynolds was at the Dept of Ag and had the purse strings. That first year and maybe second those funds when back to the purse account from the Dept of Ag with the ok of the Gov. When Edgar decided not to run and the horse industry backed the wrong candidate and that wrong candidate won George Ryan he was bitter and that tax payer donation stopped and the beginning of the end started. Swodall and others will pitch the story they like of deception and sellout. I'm sure some of that can be correct as well.

Harness rscing dead
It’s dead in Illinois and Indiana not far behind. But it’s in great shape at meadowlands and Canada.

You realize Hoosier picked up the 2 major 2yr trot stake races that the meadowlands dropped. Right? Hoosier will be top track in US in a few years

That seems unlikely

Last few years they have been the worst not ones to step up and try to keep major races from dying off. They have also pulled off 2 good Breeders Crowns. Including the one effected by Covid
-
But wouldn't they need many more top drivers to be the top track nationally? Most of them have put down roots in NJ. Not to mention the trainers...

The top drivers will relocate to anywhere the top track is. How many top drivers today are from NJ?

LMAO YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR FIVE YEARS NOW. JUST LOOK AT THE TRAINERS AND DRIVERS THERE. THEN TELL ME IT WILL BE A TOP TRACK. WELL I GUESS IT COULD MAYBE MOVE UP TO A B TRACK INSTEAD OF C. UNTIL THEY GET BIG NAME DRIVERS AND TRAINERS THERE HOOSIER WILL ALWAYS BE THE WANNA BE A TRACK LIKE THE FEW OTHERS. BIGGEST REASON IS THE DRIVERS COLONY AND TRAINERS. ITS AMISH PARADISE

THANK YOU. FINALLY SOMEONE ELSE WHO KNOWS HOOSIER RACING IS A COMPLETE JOKE FOR HARNESS RACING. IF YOU PUT HAWTHORNE AND HOOSIER TOGETHER YOU STILL COULDNT GET A DECENT DRIVER OR TRAINER IN THAT GROUP. OH YEAH HOOSIERS MANAGEMENT IS A JOKE TOO.

Ok look at the top 10. 8 of them relocated to jersey last 15 years. 3 moved 1/2 way across the world to do it.

Call me when any of them decide to relocate another 1000 to Indiana.
