More than a lot more interesting...... ..
-
And yes, I already have Suicide Prevention on speed dial. But then who would WhiteRabbit have to argue with on here?
-
TT leaves finds a hole -- who wouldn't want to sit behind Confederate... Where that hole is could be the deciding factor -- too close he's forced to come first over. Not one to miss.
-
Lol. I just wish we had mid 80’s instead of 60. Probably won’t be a super fast mile but should be a good race. It is a snake they go with division’s instead of going with top 10. At least we got those 2 in same race and the Karl/TCI matchup tomorrow
-
too bad they couldnt put seven colors in there as well
might have to wait for bc
-
This may be an adventure for Confederate. Unlike the other division there are no real speed horses here except IMS, no one to give him LIVE cover, plenty to give him weak cover. It might be time for a float and blast that downhill 2nd quarter straightaway to the lead.
After this race the discussion of GOAT may resurface if he overcomes everything in style.
-

Easy there my man Fugs, if this race is as epic as it looks like it will be theres a chance someone else could win. I really don’t care who wins as long as we get a classic battle we can ponder over for years. After all that’s what it’s all about. Maybe a Life Sign or Wiggleit jug type memory!
-
Somebody else win? That would pay boxcars. This division kind of sucks other than the big two. The exacta box will probably lose money no matter who wins after takeout.

I have 4 photos on my man dresser. My daughter, my older son and my younger son and Life Sign. In my living room is a picture of my all time favorite racehorse and the horse, who at the time replaced Whata Baron as the greatest FFA I had ever seen, Red Bow Tie.
Great call on Life Sign Jug as an all time harness racing memory/moment.
-
Maybe this will be the race that Tetrick cuts. He says Confederate can race on lead or off the pace
-
I put my money on Confederate regardless of post.
-
Only thing i will say pre race at this juncture, is I would be absolutely floored if a 3rd party horse came along and beat both of the BIG 2, unless Timmy and Scotty do something absolutely crazy, either separately or together. Can't see that happening in this universe.
This will, of course, be Confederate's greatest test so far. 73cv.2
-
Is there really much talent in this field but the top 2
I see Confederate able to float pretty well and get midpack spot. Tetrick may have to activate him earlier than usual but Its My Show has shown a propensity to tire late. Its a wicked turn of speed and have we even seen Confederates best yet? First over or not he goes on by

I didn't know I had a twin on here. tmbz1 I, fingers crossed, am with you a thousand percent. Others on here will differ, but that's why it's horseracing!

Appreciate your words very much. Always happy to reminisce about the old days and the hard knocking overnight horses that gave so much to us week after week. Please stay in touch. ;D

Cog in the wheel for both, 1- I think is Blue Hunt trying to make a statement which I don’t believe he’s capable. 2 there’s a lot of poor horses in between IMS & Confed so they could force one or both of them to be over used before TT or SZ want to

Yeah this is a tough one to pre-plan in your mind. someone in between is gonna try something unexpected.

You might get a similar result as this one from 1978: Seattle Slew vs. Affirmed, 2 triple crown champions battling it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNjPPoLdAdM

I’ll be curious to see who picks up the drive on Blue Hunt. And you got McNair in the 2 hole. He’s been known to screw up a race or 2
-
If they are both at their best, Confederate wins.

Like Instrument Landing and Rambling Storm ???

Rock hard ten - Croghan/Morril Jr. - shipped out to Northfield and ctushed in the battle of lake erie at a huge price. That horse was a ferocious closer at the Big M. Caught him at double digits from the 10 hole. Last, 5th over top of the stretch. Morrill jr. moved in and out twice like bumper cars and got up on the wire. Super exciting rally.
BJ's Whirlwind - Slugger McIntosh
-
To me, it doesn't matter how the race plays out. Confederate's nose will be the first to touch the wire. But would have like to seen Cannibal in the mix.
-
I think Confederate will float and try to find a spot mid pack. He gets a little lazy on the lead and tetrick will want his best against it’s my show. I’m looking for Timmy to wait and then at the 5/8s give him clear race track and blast. No one has shown they can go with him or withstand him yet. If he gets a reasonable trip I don’t think it’s my show will be able to hold him off. And nothing against it’s my show but tetrick lost the North America cup, not confederate.
-
Up early and loading up to head down there..Keeneland first two days. My bold call is..Toss It's My Show..off the board. tmbz1 11.wp
-
Just think if they still raced to win 2 races.. 2 or maybe 3 heats. Thats how we are shown the real race horse. And. For the most part, the yogurt has worn off….

Well, then we can key Confederate over the rest of the field, even at 2-5 and we would still get a decent triple.

Agreed, being on the lead is not his "best game" and "lazy" is a word that could describe him there ( notice how Timmy pulled the plugs last start for the first time in months after brushing to the lead ), but still on the engine clear of competition he paced 53.3/25.2 coming home. ;D

Confederate
-
High of 60 degrees
14 MPH winds
don't expect any records
-
those half mile times are pretty slow yet none of the horses on the lead are holding up today.
but will Confederate get any cover. Might have to do it himself, first over isnt exactly winning today either.
-
Last time out, Timmy said he didn't go into the race with a plan. That he got him on the gate, looked over at the #1 and decided to push off, etc, etc. This week he almost has to have a plan. He must be somewhat aggressive early regardless of the wind and track condition, but it is definitely a "tiring" surface today overall.
-
maybe he needs to blast and take the two hole behind Its My show

Check out the .20 cent super $550.00. Over $2750 for a buck.

Boy can bugaboo Lou cook. If he can mature and be a little handier, he could be a real nice one.
Confederate under siege and pulls away. Did notice he’s got some glue left front like he’s got a quarter crack.
-
No question in my mind Confederate and Cannibal are 1 and 2. That's why I thought Cannibal was the best at the Jug.
-
Pelling said they had hiccup this week, laceration on knee
-
Laceration on his knee with Brett called a little hiccup
What a horse
-
Scotty goes to the lead after Timmy clears first quarter
Wood have been a different race
Show was a no show.
Blaming the strategy not the horse

From that analysis, I can not believe you own horses or have any connection to the game.
First of all, Timmy cleared damn near the half. Dave seesawing just to gain control then let his arms out. HOW THE FUCK WAS SCOTTY EVER SEEING THE LEAD TODAY AT ANY POINT with today's version of IMS?
-
And that's that!
-
Pelling, the master of prepping a great horse for big events. On to the BC, where's IMS, hope he recovers. Still a great colt just not the best today.
-
And that's that!
No way It's my Show sniffs the lead Luc

I was standing with a bunch of other horsemen in the grandstand -- overcast, cold, and windy -- at the top of the lane after a trip like that the consensus was there's no way this horse (Confederate) hangs on for the win. Jaws drop after the race. Fug and I have been saying for the past three plus weeks this is one of the best three-year-old pacers ever.

I was there too. Thought at the 1/2 oh shit Tim what are you doing. Confederate don’t need any help just stay out of trouble

Same here. TT had the hole to take and he just drove by it. Then when Miller couldn't hold his horse and had to come back out -- what a brutal trip Confederate overcame.
-
To be totally honest I stopped breathing the instant Dave pulled back out and didn't start breathing again until about 200 yards from the wire.
Loved to have been there with you guys ;D

Best thing to happen was Dave to pull. Keep confederate interested. No other horse survived that kind of trip today. It was fucking cold with the wind blowing straight in their face on the back side. With it pushing the others home in the stretch

1.) Agree that Confederate is an "inner circle" great 3 year old of the last 50 years (hard to compare generations). This is a fairly deep crop with 4 or 5 very solid horses.
2.) IMS clearly was "off" today, as he couldn't fire. (perhaps he will show something when he is scoped.) Hopefully they will find what it is and have him set up for the BC.
3.) Wonder if Moore will bring Stockade down for the BC?? Detention barn (no yogurt powder or Viobin as a snack?) In any event, if he does, Stockade, Confederate, IMS, Seven Colors, Combustion, Cannibal should make for some thunder at Hoosier.

Seven Colors had to have bled today.

he did

He was an auto toss without lasix. El Ray screwed my super. Damn Zeron and coming up the rail. Why is Ontario the only place that takes letting a horse up the inside seriously
-
Confederate earned it today. Barring a form reversal he's much better than the rest.
