.........barely escape disaster as the starting car almost pins them against the outside fence.

Was the track announcer actually at the track? He kept calling the race seemingly oblivious that anything had happened.

greed about the announcer - OBLIVIOUS! More importantly the starter, and driver/steerer need to go immediately WTH was that. They barely got the car to speed up, let alone move to the outside clear of others. Inexcusable.
