24k bet...seriously how is that possible. The entire United States only bet 24k on this race. Monticello does double that a,race. Seriously, race 3 days a week

Good lord - pathetic I remember the days , the halcyon days, when the place pool would be 24k Incredible the fall off there

When I bet seriously back in the day we had a separate pool for NY races in CT and we would get close to or over ten grand in every win pool in CT. Thats more than the whole world bets for win in almost every Yonkers race today. Sickening.

good for them. How many horses died on track in the 6 week meet? Seemed like 20. Tbreds have become more barbaric than the dogs.

Handle difference is beyond tremendous...hors es dying is irrelevant to poor handle yr

I get that. my point is Thoroughbred racing has been reduced to Greyhound status in my mind. Who is going to do something about the staggering amount of death and destruction that sport has scene in the past several years. The past Saratoga meet should be the last until someone can explain what just went on there.

I am very surprised that PETA hasn’t started a strong campaign call to end thoroughbred racing. They certainly have enough examples of horses dying all over America. There clearly is something going on that we fans don’t know about. I find it hard to believe all these major tracks have suddenly made their tracks dangerous. Some Ploppers have surmised that present day breeding has something to do with all these deaths. That’s above my pay grade to know if that’s possible but all these deaths cannot be a coincidence.

By the way Yonkers handle in tonight’s last race was over $76,000. Monday night may have been a fluke.
