Can't find the replay on RTN and dont want to be unfair having not seen the race. How fast, how was the race run, what did he lose by?

control the pace --- control the race --- Gingras got a middle half breather and it became a sprint down the lane.
Effectively he turned a mile race that potentially Its My Show may be faster at
into
A quarter mile sprint. With the nod going to Canibal

If I remember right, Yannick got a great trotting filly beat (Mission Brief maybe?) in a stakes race by getting out sprinted in the lane. Want to say they came home 26.1 and got nipped at the wire by a filly that was out and rolling before Yannick got his filly in gear.

dinkadoo , 100% correct
perhaps if it is a major final zeron drives on in the first qtr , but not today
-
Don't take anything away from Cannibal, he's getting braver every week. IMS got a 2 hole trip and paced 1/5 of a sec faster last Quarter, I don't think the breather was the reason he got beat. Not saying he's not a great horse but Cannibal seems to be just as good.
-
Most of you know how I feel, but apparently I can not argue with IMS effort today, Scintillating last quarter and just got beat. Congrats to Cannibal.
-
nothing like getting paid to train your horse a last 1/4
-
It was actually an easy race to bet against IMS. He has been bad or weaker each time this year he has raced back to back. Hopefully they give him a couple a weeks off then bring him back for the Final.
-
A middle half breather? He blistered the last half in 52.4 on the front end and It's My Show couldn't catch him with a pocket trip.
-
correct, 56.1 quarter to three quarters is a huge breather for these types of horses
of course they will fly home off those fractions
-
28.4 = breather
-
28.4 = breather
More like a pulled over for tire change in the pits and then back on to the track.

The middle half of 56.1 for this quality of horses at the Red Mile is a walk in the park
2nd quarter in 28.4 going straight down the backside
3rd quarter in 27.2 the first eighth was the same walk in the park and slowly Gingras started to crank him up.
-
I understand horses race at 1:00 pm everyday somewhere, just wondering how much race day prep changes for racing early afternoon as opposed to the evening.

Obviously. Even with a 3/8 breather -- that makes his last 3/8 even more impressive. A 27.2 quarter is not a breather for any type of horse -- especially if it involves a turn. And he was parked by IMS to a 27.1 first quarter.

Cheap ass redboard.
-
lets be clear, these are the best 3 year olds in the state
you give one of them a 28.4 breather , ITS OVER!!!, DONE!!

Borderline red board...he didn't claim to bet him. Just made a very accurate statement. Horse hasn't been the world beater people thought he was and shouldn't have been bet down that far. Although a red board was implied.

Right on brother,regardless of final outcomes, there is no dominant colt in this bunch! tmbz1

They all lose. Fast times are nice...but doesn't measure heart. Some don't like getting looked in the eye. He's a very nice horse.
