Canada's best "old-time racing". Unfortunately I'm going to Hanover for the Robt. Walker Memorial Trot. Taking lawn chairs & 2 bottles of Chardonay & my beautiful wife!
-
Magic too, Jody just jogged with a classy ol' Euchred for 78th lifetime win.
Was showing 202-203 in couple starts prior, must have known Jody had his hands on the reigns

I like the fact that there is a 10k bonus for a new track record! 5k to the the horse that breaks it,5k divided equally to the rest of the field. PL Ozzie is an interesting story claimed for 30k before winning 5 in a row before selling on line for 67k!(looked like a partnership dissolution) He will be firing off the car like a scalded cat for sure. We will see some wicked fractions for sure! tmbz1 tmbz1

Probably the worst drive of the day. I’m sure they’ll be glad to get Jody back. Horse went a monster trip dispute the horrible drive.

Ran into Mark Ford a few races before the big one. What happened to our 9-5 price? It was holding up with 45k in the pool.
-
Was looking for SCM in the winners circle
-
He took a huge nose dive going to the gate for sure! I’m willing to say it was eye opening for Stratton to be there, it’s quite the experience.
Anyone hear if it was a record handle for the evening card? Don’t think I’ve ever saw a pool as big as last nights GC&S
-
Yes, it was a record handle, $647k. Huge crowd and a great night of racing.
-
Stratton horsemanship on last turn SAVED the day for the VERY EXCELLENT half miler COVERED BRIDGE.
Jamieson 1 forced him three wide and he almost lost him...once gathered drove home past the 'already-waiting for-him' Scott Young and the Gillis stablemate #5
BRAVO WHIPTHERABBIT. Mansize win and ex.

Marc Campbell came out on Jody and pushed him out. Almost took his legs out. Watch Jody give him a piece of his mind after the wire.

If youve never gone..a must.
A spectacular image.

Yes Lance, Campbell onto Jamieson onto Stratton. Very close to a real final turn mess.
U.S. connections got 2/3 of the 100gs can. purse this time.. Thats 70gs can breeders, etc dont get. And thats the way it goes with open company 49th parallel racing. Big harness both sides of border. Play for keeps. As it should be.
-
What a crowd.. that’s some handle 600k.. both Gillis horses were on toes.. covered bridge was pushed all over track.. 49 mile if not
-
Mentioned I was there for this spectacle in '21 (during a covid down period they ran it)
That final three days..
Thur night 80 degrees and clear. Old home week..entire fams and returning fir vacation young people come out this week.
That night, beachesque attire and oh so lovely friends and ladies..and oh ya guys too
Fri night rainy/cool..half the crowd. No matter
Sat doubleheader. 1p and feature sat night 7
The evening weather spectacular..coul dnt get a seat if you werent there early..reservatio n restaraunts jammed..casino big biz great racing with all the canadian names you know..and cash lovin us connections too.

just saying i will take david miller over jody on any night especially in big races against usa drivers
yes last night miller screwed up or kept the horse alive despite the journey ???
i mean cmon , we have all seen what jody does at mohawk on a regular basis
-
Never before saw what Stratton did after race. Walked horse on the outside fence, let a few fans pet horse’s head. Shook some hands, posed for selfies. Amazing that the horse was so calm after going that trip.
-
This is a great video of last nights race. Can feel the excitement. Great to see Stratton taking his time and enjoying the fans heading back to the winners circle. They enjoyed it.
