Today, i played one race. It was the United Nations at Momouth. Trying to pick my spots. I loved the #1 Therapist ridden by Javier Castellano. I thought he's run second to #3 Catnip who i thought was a better horse. So, as stupid as a person can be, i bet $40 to place on #1. Instead of my usual $20WP. I got back $172 instead of $352. And how do i not have the exacta? If you folks think i need a "therapist", you got that right! Ugh!

How could you need a therapist with an ROI for the day of that. Greed is a gambling curse and that is a killer ROI for 2 minutes of work. tmbz1

While i agree with "onabrake" that my ROI was great, i hate missed opportunities to "make a score". Since i do not make many bets in a calender year, it might behoove me to think that these horses that pay 10-1 and higher deserve a smarter wager than just a "Place" bet. My opening bankroll for the Saratoga meet was $2500. Thanks to my Momouth win yesterday, it now sits at $2619. Well, let's see what i can "muster" today.

More scores made at Monmouth this year than ever. percentage wise unbelievable amount of long shot wins.

I've always been a big believer in jockey/trainer combos. And while i rarely ever bet Parx, i'm taking a flyer on #3 in the 10th today. Trainer JK Sweezey uses jockey JA Vargas, Jr. on a lot of his "live" horses. So todays wager $20Win and $40 place on "No Valla" #3 in the 10th race at Parx. This is the only mount for Vargas today.
