OPEN HANDED CAUGHT THROWING THE RULES RIGHT OUT THE WINDOW! FRIDAY NIGHT THEY HAD THE NADIA LOBELL STAKES FOR $115K. BURKE PUT 2 IN AGAINST A COUPLE DECENT FILLIES. ONLY 1 OF THE BURKE FILLIES WAS ON LASIX.
BOTH GOT LASIX BY MISTAKE...YET BOTH WERE ALLOWED TO RACE!
OF COURSE BOTH HIT THE BOARD RUNNING 1ST AND 3RD.
WTF?
HOW IS THE FILLY NOT PREVIOUSLY NOT
ON THE LIST STILL ALLOWED IN?
BURKE AND JERRY SILVA DEFINITELY GOT SPECIAL TREATMENT. FROM WHO? RICK MOORE AT HOOSIER?
ERV'S OWNERS ARE STEAMED! PELLING'S OWNER IS SUPER PISSED SINCE THEY RAN 2ND. BOTH HAVE RETAINED LAWYERS TO SEE WHO SCREWED THE POOCH!

One call to Howard Taylor and this all goes away.

Sorry if the results aren't as linear as could be viewed. Nice mile by the winner for sure.

Burke needs to be banded
-
1. Arguing on money lost during a 115k race where you finished second is probably not worth having a call to the lawyer.
2. Lasix as used by the state and going to presented as such by any lawyer is to stop a horse from bleeding, a horse that wasn’t bleeding and wasn’t on lasix isn’t going to get a real improvement from lasix (arguing that lasix is a performance enhancer for non bleeders in court would be a bad idea)
3. The vet and commission are at fault, and the bettors would have a case if Hoosier handled anything at all and the public wasn’t notified for first race lasix.
-
What is the arguement here? Over 3rd place?? Why would the 2nd place finisher want to sue. Strong Poison the winner WAS listed on the program as getting lasix. I deleted my copy of the program so I don't remember if McSeaside was listed as getting the med or not but the results do show they both got it. So maybe they may have some kind of case against the 3rd place finisher but no one is getting sued.
This thread is basically BS and just hype for Burke and Hoosier management haters

GSAC 11.bz 11.bz 11.bz Erv Miller and his owners clearly have standing and the rules regarding Lasix + safeguarding the betting public were seriously violated. Learn the game laddie. 11.wp
I hope Burke gets in a head-on car crash and tastes his own blood in his big fat mouth!

Even if you disqualified the filly that got lasix, millers filly would have been 4th instead of 5th. If you wanted to throw a fit, cal the commission and see if they’ll disqualify them and you’ll make 5k off the phone call. But getting a lawyer for 5k and it’s been decided by a state entity? Fucking stupid.

I am guessing the owners would say "It is not about the money"!
IMHO It should be a class action suit brought on by every owner in the race, and everybody that bet on the race.

There will be NO changes. It's official!!!

IF THATS THE CASE, THEN WHY REGULATE IT AND EVEN PUT IT IN THE PROGRAM. JUST LET EVERYONE AND ANYONE USES LASIX AT WILL WHENEVER THEY FELT LIKE IT, RIGHT? W-R-O-N-G!!! TOTAL NONSENSE AND ALL OF THE HORSEMEN SAID THE ONLY THING TO DO WAS SCRATCH THE HORSE WHO RECIEVED IT BY MISTAKE AND REFUND THE STAKES PAYMENT TO THE OWNERS. GIVE ME A BRAKE, IF IT WAS ANY OTHER TRAINERS THE HORSE WOULD OF BEEN SCRATCHED, PERIOD. WITH THAT SAID, I DON'T THINK ANYONE WILL SUE BECAUSE OF THE HASSLE AND HEADACHE INVOLVED. BUT ITS JUST ANOTHER REASON WHY NOBODY IS EXCITED ABOUT HARNESS RACING AND HOW THIS SPORT CONTINUES TO STEP ON ITS OWN DICK.

I HAVE A BETTER IDEA. WHY NOT JUST SCRATCH THE FILLY WHO ACCIDENTALLY GOT LASIX AND ITS DONE AND OVER? IF ITS NOT SUCH A BIG DEAL, WHY DOES EVERY OTHER TRAINER WHEN PUUTING THEIR HORSES ON LASIX, HAVE TO GET THIER VET TO TURN IN A LASIX SLIPP SO THE THEIR HORSES CAN RACE ON LASIX?. YOU GUYS ARE EITHER STUPID OR YOUR IN BURKES BARN. THERE IS A PROCEDURE THAT HAS TO BE FOLLOWED IF YOU WANT TO PUT A HORSE ON LASIX. THAT WAS NOT DONE IN THIS CASE AND THE ONLY FAIR THING TO DO WAS SCRATCH THE HORSE. THIS WAS UNFAIR TO EVERY OTHER HORSE IN THAT RACE, NOT TO MENTION THE BETTING PUBLIC AND 50 OR SO FANS THEY HAVE LEFT OF THE SPORT.

Ya, give Ronnie a pass, don't think so. Enough rules have been tossed aside for them. It's trainers responsibility to make sure your horse comes prepared to race, that means horse gets lasix or not. There should be no question, Horse should come down and let Ronnie deal with the vet and his help for fucking up.
-
Everyone in the Hochstetler barn KNOWS that we do not give any horse anything other than feed 48 hours before the race. Jay always said if you inject a horse with water within 48 hours of the race that it is an automatic scratch and fine/suspension. I think that is the rule but I’ll ask homer Tuesday when Ponda Jet wins another! Lol But you cannot administer anything into a horse on race day or automatic scratch. Doesn’t matter if it was an accident or not. They should have never allowed this horse to race. It’s a very bad mistake and this will never happen in the Hochstetler barn.
PS- keep your eyes peeled on our little 2 year old Ponda Title and of course, the best 3 year old undefeated Trotter in the world Ponda Jet. It will be a 4th of July to remember ! Go Jay Hocky- you got this.

GREAT POINT BY THIS GOOF. AND YOUR SO CALLED UNBEATEN PONDA JET IS DUE TO LOSE. BUT GOOD LUCK ANYWAYS
-
What amazes me is when a horse turns 4 in a lot of stables it automatically starts to bleed and needs lasix….. just keep telling us it does not help a horse or…. It covers up other drugs …..
-
If you check with the USTA Stong Poion bled and put on lasix 6/30/23
Mcseaside bled and was put on lasix 5/29/23

Burke needs to be banded
i agree

i think burke cheats, does anyone agree?

Proof?
What about Jimmy Takter with syringes in Canada?
What about Ake Seventead using electrical prods to train horses?
What about Cassie Coleman and the yogurt?
Try to find a big trainer who does not have some questionable incidents in their past.

Stong Poion bled and put on lasix 6/30/23
6/30/23 was the day of the race in question.
How did she bleed the day of the race to be put on lasix before the race?
There is a skunk in the woodpile somewhere!
-
What that person meant was that 6/30 was the first time for lasix not that that was the first time she bled. They just forgot the comma after bled. I saw the program. It said first time lasix.
-
Be nice if people just learn to lose with dignity. ngc3
-
No one is suing anyone. The people in the race all agreed before the race was run it was an honest mistake.

Get a life with that panda jet horse. Can’t wait until he gets smoked so you’ll stop the bullshit.

Nothing will ever happen to Teflon Ron no matter what happens! Y'all should realize that by now. He can win an entire card and all that you will see is more positive praise from the USTA! If Lou Pena was white, nobody would have ever bothered him! 11.wp 11.wp

I wonder how high they tested. (How much lasix did they get ?) How do you explain this to an owner. ?

So much jealousy over Burke on this site. Get a life already. Honest mistake by the track. Move on

ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 you try getting over a 115k purse that was given to Burke on a silver platter. Gotta put an asterisk * by that horses name for that start to make it fair for anyone who is betting.

Its one thing to forget lasix but for a trainer/2 nd trainer or even the groom to go through the procedures for a horse that has never raced on lasix before not think/say “hey, is this right “? Yes the vet that administered should have checked the program and tattoo.. oops. USTA says chip is enough. Several big time screw ups but it starts in the barn Not just one horse but TWO !!!!!
You can delegate authority but you can’t delegate responsibility …..

First off you can’t put a horse on lasix the day its in to go. You scoped her after the race a get her on for her next start. But how are you going to scope her the same day before the race and add lasixs. If that was the case , which it absolutely wasn’t she would be scratched sick if she was standing in the stall bleeding. One poster said that if the horse doesn’t bleed lasixs wont matter,
That’s incorrect from a pharmacology standpoint. Lasixs works on the Loop of Henle, it will lower the blood pressure of a horse wether they are a bleeder or not. Lower blood pressure means less cardiac resistance. She did go a track record lifetime 48 flat mile.
Mcseaside was put on Lasixs 3-31-23.
How are you running a 20 million a year operation, and every time a mic is put in front of you , you tell everyone how great , smart , your system training, feed is the greatest, so on and so forth but you can’t hire competent people to get lasix to a horse on it and not the ones who are not.
If you give lasix to a horse that’s not on lasix and get tested you get disqualified. You also can get DQ if your horse is on lasix and test to high a level.

Excellent post. As someone else said you cannot give a horse anything on the day of the race or it’s automatic suspension. Hoosier dropped th3 ball on this one. No matter who the horse is or whoever the trainer is, that rule applies to anyone who holds a license. They can’t have it both way..... or can they seeing that it’s Ron Burke?
-
That is not what happened. You are misrepresenting the facts. It was "first start Lasix" after bleeding the previous start.
Finally someone who understands the facts here. Strong Poison bled BEFORE the day of the race. The program said "First Time Lasix" and the program is printed DAYS BEFORE the race so there is no case against her.
The problem was when the program was printed they forgot to say that McSeaside was getting Lasix but if you look at her past performances all of the recent ones said she was on lasix which again reinforces that it was nothing but a printer error and the stable had nothing to do with anything.
-

Not true. They said all of that bs AFTER the horse was accidentally given the oasis. It’s was Hoosier trying to do damage control.
-
Give us a break. Do you believe everything you read or what people tell you?
There was no accident except for the printer. Everyone in every barn knows that both fillies were scheduled to get lasix and whoever is spouting this bs about people complaining are just trying to stir crap up on this site and this site only, Prove that Erv or anybody on the grounds said that there was something wrong. Just the aholes on this site trying to stir up shit which they managed to do very well.
-
Was an announcement made of the MISTAKE. Ho hum. At the track ? Did Burke report that the program was wrong ? Surely he looks at programs .. was the horse entered as a lasix horse ?

Did you hear Burke speak at HOF banquet? It was the most uneducated language barrier a US native could speak. Sad this is the top earning trainer in harness racing.
