yes tmbz1
good idea for the fans and owners
easier to follow the horses
-
Who actually shows up for Qualifiers other than owners and horseman? Heck, you can't get more than 100 people to attend for live races. But if they're doing it right before live races then I might say Yes.
-
They do at the meadows, no colors though
-
Absolutely. I follow the qualifiers at Scioto and there is no sound and the drivers are not required to wear colors and it is almost impossible to follow a certain horse not to mention you have no idea about the fractions until the race is over
-
I think it would be good practice for apprentice race callers
-
good god yes
try to bring some professionalism to the business
yes have young announcers
and maybe someone with knowledge of pedigree
astute gamblers watch the qualifiers
-
Is this really a question?
-
Should always have one

Also, the video eqpt they are using is not good enough to distinguish saddle pad colors except right in front of the grand stands so they makes it even more difficult to follow the race.

I thought it was Longo, but now that I think about it--it was a little guy they called "ISH" I think his last name was Przyblski, he rode in the starters car with Al Jozwiak if I'm not mistaken!! Luc, correct me if I'm wrong!!

Not following???

Why not? Both industries (t-bred and standardbred) can always use new and perhaps more exciting announcers. Does anybody have an idea of the average age is in this field? Free auditions and it doesn't cost anyone anything until if/when they get hired.

Agreed. But, the aspiring race caller still needs to be at that level of competence.
-
HOW WOULD THIS HELP THE GAME? I WOULD SUGGEST DOING LIKE TBREDS AND CANCEL QUALIFERS AND JUST RACE OFF A WORKOUT. NO QUALIFIERS NEEDED.
-
Tracks should have announcers. Very few do now, just people calling horses names.
-
No, unnecessary
