In monetary gains who are the most successful horseman in the business today?
My pic would be Mark Ford, Ray Schnitker, Steve Jones and the Burk’s.
-
They all make a good living smart people do ok.
-
Brent McGrath. Look at his ability to come up with big horses from limited opportunities.
-
Nancy Takter, collecting big training bills with average results based on her stock.

I agree but she’s not in the league of the ones that they had mentioned. Maybe some day.

Agreed but not in the millionaire’s status that which I have mentioned.

I’m a Midwest guy but follow east coast racing my whole life. Mark Ford has to make his money outside of harness racing because if you take away gallo blue chip he would be a below average trainer. Ain’t no way he is a millionaire trainer in harness racing. Rarely wins and relies on Jeff Gillis to do everything for him.
-
Below average trainer? Maybe you should look up how many wins Ford has had in his career it might surprise you for a below average trainer.
Most trainers pissed their money away at the windows, Ford made smart investments and not only that he reinvested his money into a multi million dollar top-notch facility probably the best farm in the country among other real estate entities.

Bingo that’s what I said that he didn’t become a millionaire from harness racing. I’m just giving you my opinion from what I’ve seen over the years. He might of won a lot races in the past but the last 10-15 years I rarely see him win. I’ve heard really good things about his farm but all that aside, he made his money outside harness racing and I’m happy for him. I talked in the phone to him twice and he sounded like a pretty nice guy.

Eddie had money before Patty. Great family. Had alot of great horses, great owners and wasn't stupid with his money. Ray's owned a piece of every good horse he ever had, 5% trainer, 5% driver for years. He's smart, knows when to let catch driver take over now. Not afraid to get rid of crap, take the hit and it's over.
-
Well said! You’re right on the money.

The game needs more people like him rather then the homeless bum in Goshen.
-
Funny. Did I mention names?
I said a homeless bum in Goshen and you popped up and commented? Why Mike?
-
They said the same for a bunch of those 28 convicts too. I did wanna say thanks for making me feel like I am back in junior high school with these "arguments" and name calling. ngc3
Anyway, still waiting for all these people to come shut me up as has been said here, still nothin'. More gutless tripe, don't worry though I will keep entertaining and educating. Tune in next week though, we will see how many people have the spine to show up there and watch the first round of scum be sentenced.

So Mike won’t be giving a speech at the podium when everybody is seated prior to the sale?
I heard thousands are coming to the sale to buy yearlings and to listen to the speaker of the house Mike Petrelli on the finer points of harness racing!!
-
Where might that be? Unfinished track?
-
That’s amazing Mike! I’ve never seen such an unfinished track produce so many multiple winners, major sire stakes included.
-
Are you kidding for life! Wow
-
Guy is a long-winded douchebag. But banned for life? ngc3
-
Yeah, I don’t know if I would’ve banded him for life I think it’s bullshit on his part. I think he’s still around playing coy!
-
I was right he’s still here I didn’t think horse plop would do that to him.
