They are going to be looking to add as many amatuer races to meadowlands pace and Hambletonian cards. Hearing ones in charge think they are the key to better handle.

SO WHAT ARE SETTLEMOIR AND GURAL SAYING ABOUT THE HORSE SHORTAGE NOW. HIS TRACK IN JERSEY WITH THE SMALL FIELDS IS MAGICAL. 3 MILLION A NIGHT IS A PIECE OF CAKE NOW,
-
Short fields continue to plague the Meadowlands.
Meadowlands VP of Racing Jason Settlemoir had this observation on the development.
“It’s becoming very apparent the horse shortage that Jeff Gural and I have spoken about for years is indeed real and wreaking havoc on the entry boxes in our sport.”
-
The driver colony has always thinned out during the stake season, But at least there were more talented drivers to fill in. Best drivers go to the $ if they have any brains, ya never saw Mike John or Billy O when the cash was elsewhere.

It isn't wreaking havoc in Ohio. Scioto has 9 or 10 most races and they have 14 or 15 races most nights. Northfield has 8 or 9 most races and they also card 14 or 15 most nights.

I don't think any of the Ohio tracks bar as many trainers from racing at their track as the Meadowlands does.

Another interesting and full of shit comment from a member of the Pig M mismanagement team. If there is a horse shortage, why have the three tracks you operate racing at the same time? NORTHVILLE Downs has 16 races this evening, and 14 have nine horse fields. There is not a horse shortage. There are too many tracks, of which Vernon, Tioga, and the Pig M need to go. Jeff Gural is doing a great job at helping to eliminate good harness racing. The Pig M has carded 24 races this weekend, of which FIVE ARE AMATEUR RACES??? You claim to be the premier harness racing in North America, and 20.83% of the races you run in a week are for AMATEURS??? They continue to piss off their few customers with excessive drag between races. Keep up the excellent work, you're doing a fantastic job at the PIG M.
Sincerely, Silent One

Some of you Gural haters need to get a life. You have every right to dislike Gural or his people, but why follow his tracks so closely?????? Its like you wake up every morning searching/looking for something to complain about Gural, his people or his race tracks?? (drag is to long...... to many amateur races, Bla, Bla, Bla....) Most people that don't like something tend to ignore it, not obsess about it, or follow it every move.......
And those Amateur races will way out handle any of your so-called "good" Northville Downs races.

People used to love the place and the gural regime makes them hate it. Gamblers, horsemen, owners, you name it all included. They have reason to complain all they want.

Under the new Gural regime or drug laws how is Travis Alexander allowed to race there?

You can ask the same question about 1/2 of the trainers that race there including all of the trainers that Jeff employs.

In terms of handle on a given night, the “magic number” that signifies a great evening of business at The Meadowlands is $3 million, a hurdle that’s been jumped 12 times during 2022 from a total of 39 race cards. Unfortunately the first weekend of June was anything but great as reduced races and short fields resulted in disappointing handle numbers. A total of $4,912,487 was wagered over 24 races for an average of $204,687 per race, an average drop of almost $29,000 per race.
"It is disappointing to see so many SBOANJ members entering at Yonkers, Chester and Pocono when we really need their support," said Meadowlands CEO Jeff Gural, "I really don't know what to say."

How about "I am the biggest hypocrite in harness racing, and I don't care what my customers want, and therefore I am getting out immediately."

Keep carding those GSY shit festivals. They ruin the pick 5, pick 7, pick4, pick 6 and the entire night
