watch race 6 from mohawk
tell me that 3 horse did not travel a shorter distance by going inside 5 pylons on a turn
not suggesting it was his fault but cmon man
-
racing was ruined when the hub rail was taken out
-
Saw a race the other night, mighta been Mon or Tues at Mohawk where horse sat the pocket got boxed in till stretch then blasted to the inside covered two pylons and won by a short margin.
Judges concluded did go inside two but gained no advantage! Laughable, no way the horse wins if he doesn't cover two pylons. I had no interest in the race other than amusement at the left standing outcome.

If the hubrail suddenly appeared it will be a demolition derby out there. Many of these young drivers have never even seen a hub rail and would have no idea how to drive with one up. Its a whole different world when you have that barrier there. Im still picking pvc splinters out of my skin

Have seen a few 2 year old races this year where if there was a hub rail we would have seen some horrific accidents. Can't go back to hub rails. However, the Judges do need to look more closely at drivers that repeatedly go inside the pylons for no reason except to get an edge. There is one thing to avoid an accident or you cut the corner inadvertently and another to consistently do it. If a driver goes inside the hub rail for no apparent reason the rules need to be enforced and DQ's.

i understand the dangers of a typical hub rail
i am sure todays technology could create one that is still safe perhaps collapsable
just something to discourage this madness where drivers go inside pylons and then it is up to judges to determine any dq

racing was ruined when the hub rail was taken out
but you keep investing !
Just wager early dont be shut out
AND
On those rare Occasions
Cash em early !!

The current pylons are significantly safer than a rail.
Why would racing ever put a rail back in?
-
for the exact reasons i noted
1. the horse takes a much shorter route than other horses and is allowed to stay up, i understand he had no other options but why should other horses be penalized by going the proper mile, this horse should have been dq
2. drivers dont respect the pylons o they go over them, inside them and then you have to rely on idiot judges to make a call
3. not suggesting the rail needs to be made of wood just something so horses cant go over it
-
Just put some spikes in the pylons.
-
Brown Jug .... Because judges can't make perfect judgements, we should put some kind of rail back in that will endanger drivers and horses? That makes no sense. Wood or plastic, firm or breakaway, you are still going to have a rail going under a horses legs. Still makes no sense.
You sound like an active gambler.
How many races have you wagered on in 2019 and 2020, and how many times do you feel your wager was affected unfairly by a pylon issue and a bad ruling by a judge ??
-
Put in more pylons, especially around the turns
-
more times than i want to count
once would be once too often
but i admit i am small time
but it affects the wagering side of the business for the sharks we need in the game
-
One reason these times are so fast at all these tracks. They have banked the turns more change all that and times increase a couple seconds. That takes away the only story the industry has how fast this race was or that race went.
-
"but it affects the wagering side of the business for the sharks we need in the game"
Every time a judges ruling makes a shark a loser, it also makes another shark a winner.

11th race - surprised to see a dq from 3rd to 4th for 2 for using pylon passing lane. Judges must be reading plop!
