Post by: Brutus Buckeye on April 10, 2020, 12:46:16 PM

1/3 By Order of the Ohio State Racing Commission issued today (4.10.20), please be advised that all Ohio Racing has been cancelled through May 15, 2020.  If your backside (including dormitories) is open, it SHALL remain open and operational until further notice.

Unfortunately you can not silence the voice.  Now he puts fictional race calls out.  The arrogance of him is something else.  Thinking people want to hear him call a race.

DeWine may be no nonsense.  fact is the citizens in Ohio appear to be tiring of his sidekick Doc doing by guess and by golly.  to the point that there are protesters at the state house and big business of Ohio ringing his phone.  In Ohio, the doors swing open on May 15.

Good idea, open the doors, wait 2 weeks and see how many are infected and trace them back to track, great for publicity. Remember the PR Yonkers was getting, do you think hillbilly heaven will be different, just so you can race a horse. Think of other people NOT just harness racing.

May 1 open for 'some' business address.

Ohio racing has said mid may for harness trax at earliest....

So, does that mean tracks potentially open for qual.may 1, all protections followed....and opening may 15?????

It's nothing at all in Ohio until at least the 15th. That would include qua. The earliest they would even qua at this point would be the 16th.

This is bullshit.  The OHHA wont pay my mortgage, why should it pay people stabled at Nfld. All should be treated the same.
Title: Re: OHIO
Post by: Ohracing on April 24, 2020, 09:48:29 PM
From my understanding Mahoning Valley is getting the same.  This money is coming from the OSRC not the OHHA.  So the problem is with the OSRC not the OHHA.  I don't understand why only horsemen at the track are the only ones getting their rent paid when they are all Ohio horsemen.

As a comparison, MSOA is paying $96k a month to keep the Meadows backstretch open.

The money was ordered to be paid by the OSRC and it is from the stand alone casino money generated.  Dont get me wrong I think that this is bull shit that you can't just help one track there are horsemen all over the state and the help should be provided equally to all and not just a select few.

Post by: jupiter on May 09, 2020, 10:28:20 AM
Seems like itīs not just the Gov and racing commission who are calling the shots, seems the Permit Holders (casinos) have to be involved with the openings. Imagine that, and I bet they want indemnity if any one get s the virus. They also want assurances for all casinos and racinos, racing or not. Looks like a complete cluster fuck, maybe no jug this year!

1 - casino's don't want racing anyway

2 - casino's don't want to open up tracks while no slots

3 - if something happens and the Rona starts flying around the backstretch, that may delay the slots open.

4 - No Slots = No Racing.....

Just my opinion.  My son was scheduled to play summer ball on a college circuit.... Duke, NC, Butler, IU and Michigan have cancelled their summer ball. As a college told the promoter, schools want nothing to happen this summer that could jeopardize football in the fall.

The challenge for casino's ballparks concert halls... is liability. No insurance carrier will cover liability if someone dies from contracting Covid. at one of these facilities.

Casinos are the problem for opening in ohio, not Covid

How can you blame the casino business, they donīt want us, we bring nothing to the table. Who gets the bill if someone gets sick, surely not the horseman. All we do is take, we add nothing other than helping casinos get licenses. We have had time to help ourselves and we did nothing!!!! All we have done is let the large stables get rich, small guys pick up the scraps. We do NOTHING to clean up our sport, need feds to do that. Have you seen any quotes from any drivers, re: indictments? What about owners, trainers, even grooms, vets? WE have learned to just take the handouts and give nothing back.

Very fukin simple
Everybody who enters a track or casino
SIGNS A ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK WAIVER
If salvage yards and metal yards excemt themselves from liability
So cam casinos an tracks
