how many starts at a claiming price, should you be allowed to race, and not win, before the racing secretary says you are not competitive and refuse to accept your entry until you drop in claiming price?

And there should never be a non winners race for claimers

Risky business.    You have no idea how sound that horse is.   No idea how much vet work is being done weekly, just to race.    You have no idea what chemicals have been pumped into that horse.   You'd be just as well off taking your money and putting it down on red or black on the wheel !!!

BUT, in Ohio you can't switch tracks for 30 days.  I'm told that hoosier don't care at all - claim and bring 'em on!  Why in the world Ohio straight jackets the claims is stifling.  Most of the owners and trainers race on the three SW Ohio tracks and alternate to Northfield, so - what the what?

Ongait reserves made me quit bidding. Everybody has 10k horses that are thinking they are 20k claimers bevause so many trainers put 10’s in for 20

There's some decent outright buys in Delaware and Maryland, but you have to do your homework. Talk to grooms (pay something), vets and blabber mouths. Offer half the price and put the horse in rehab for three weeks. Jog and train the piece and appear with out notice.

If you're training yourself it means you know enough to reach in and take one.  If your going to pay bills to a trainer don't waste your time.  Nothing worth claiming for the past 5 years.
