Fucking stupid fine here.  If he did anything wrong, just stop racing now.  If you bet a horse and you don't get at least that when it matters and it seems to be working...you would be quite pissed.

.2 over the limit.  That is likely within margin of error.  I only take exception to the inference as Ater racked up a single digit win percentage at Scioto.  Obviously not the results the known 'cheaters' reach for.

No, 2.8 over the limit.
And while he may not be as bad an offender as other, it does shead light on how “seriously “ Ohio racing commission takes medication violations.
What makes it worse is that this guy is a recent inductee to the Ohio harness hall of fame and walks around like he’s above the fray.

If he indeed used cobalt on a horse he is a true 100 pct pos.
His horse tested positive above levels, that's a pretty sure sign he uses cobalt.

It's a trace element. A horse would probably have to eat like 20 pounds of hay to raise its cobalt levels.

Not 'naturally', it's listed as a ingredient on the bag, that means it was put in the feed mixture manualy,   and who gets to dictate what a horses 'threshold' is?  They are all different,  one can be dehydrated , and another not,  everything in the 'feed' can effect each horse differently.

WAIT A MINUTE !!!
This guy has been in the business for 40 years.  He's a well respected horseman, as some of you point out.  Slow down the accusations  -  if he decided to go to the dark side - he'd be light years ahead of these half-ass cheaters.   All of us know that these unscrupulous trainers that trampoline a horse after a week are the real scoundrels. So, knock it off !

He maybe one of the good guys but the commission came up with a threshold that's far enough from the environment numbers to not be a contaminate. So that it came in over..it is a over. Why doesn't the horse have to sit three weeks like other places and then test clean before next start? This was a 2 yr old trot filly that's in to go tomorrow for 275k. So do the other owners in that race have a beef?

Stop sniffing glue already you incompetent fucktard. He uses it. Why he got a positive. 2 years ago he was claiming horses left and right and launching them with concrete hands driving them. Ya good horseman my balls. What's good for the goose.....

There's no reason to have cobalt supplemented in a diet unless the horse is B12 deficient so why is it even in the feed at all?

I totally agree, and if it's so bad for them then why manufacturers put it in their food?

The Ohio racing commission has a warning between 25-50. The horse was on the judges list and had to get below that level before racing. It was under 17 parts after that qualifier. If it was over the 50 parts limit there would have been days and fines.
