Title: race 4 Monti Wed.
Post by: spaheaven on July 18, 2018, 02:28:26 PM
Not sure where the "official" start of the race is:  when the starter opens the gate or the start/finish line but the 2 and 3 clearly hook wheels before the start/finish line and after the inquiry there is no refund on either so I guess the official start is where the gate opens...not sure when the teletimer actually begins.  Good for me though because I had the winner, if they gave a refund on the 1-2 fav my price gets shot to hell.

When they pass the fair start pole, you nitwit.

Congrats on your 3-1 winner.

The horses shall be deemed to have started when the word “go” is given by the starter
and all the horses must go the course except, if in the opinion of the judges, one or more
horses should be deemed non-starters to protect the wagering public due to an unfair
start or a no contest is called.

How could they possibly believe the 2 and 3 received fair starts here, lmao...and when does the starter say go?  whenever he wants to?  and the fair start pole is way before he says go I'm sure of that.

No.  They don't say GO.  They pass the fair start pole.

I know more about this than you do.  Trust me.

§ 4115.10. All horses starters.
The horses shall be deemed to have started when the word “go” is given by the starter
and all the horses must go the course except, if in the opinion of the judges, one or more
horses should be deemed non-starters to protect the wagering public due to an unfair
start or a no contest is called.
(a) In the case of a non-starter, the horse or horses shall run for purse only. The line in
the program will be designated accordingly, noting that all wagers were refunded for the
horse or horses deemed non-starters by the word “Refund” being included in the horses
line in the program in the “Odds” section.
(b) A race may be deemed a no contest, if in the opinion of the judges, it is impossible to
go the course fairly due to interference before the start, an accident or malfunction of the
starting gate. If a race is declared a no contest, all wagers will be refunded. The purse
shall be divided equally among all participants in an overnight race. For other than
overnight races, the provisions as set forth by the track shall apply.

Direct from the NYS Gaming Commission rule book, so you obviously don't know shit...maybe someone who actually does should comment.

Sort of like the foul pole in baseball! If you hit it it's a homer!

A mildly derogatory phrase used to describe someone who claims to have selected the winner, but always after the race.
