Not sure what the rule is on that
-
He sure did...coming off the turn frp home...but Cross still beat him .
At Freehold many years ago.........Herve loaned his whip to..... I think it was Breshnahan ....Herve who was fined 100

Regardless of outcome, both of their licenses should be suspended for YEARS. I am writing to the Governor to demand an investigation. No joke. That was the most criminal move I have ever seen in a race.
Pretty sure it's legal. I know in thoroughbreds it is at least. Seen a jockey hand another jockey their whips multiple times throughout the years.

What are you smoking ?? I want to get some of that stuff.

With "multiple times" as quoted above ......I'm sure you can provide us with a recent example.......... Track , Jockey , Race , point of transfer

You would think that its illiegal but not sure

I think betwith will fix a race for cross this weekend

I JUST WATCHED REPLAY. THAT WAS MESSED UP.

Rather cool and funny unless you had a bet in the race.

It didn’t affect the outcome of the betting. It might have helped Beckwith get the 5th place check. No Hi5 there.

That's the specific memory. The two other ones overseas appeared to result in a minor punishment. I think I also kind of remember it happening out west in the past few years.

would this be the same as a nascar driver tossing his steering wheel to another driver?

why did he give him his whip?
-
looks like a slap on the wrist was handed down to both for "conducted yourself in a manner that was not consistent with the best interest of racing"
-
What would be the purpose of handing over your whip to an opponent in a race other than to aid him in advancing ? There should be a severe penalty for this, to both parties, regardless of where each finished.

They really think it's OK to do that.

What would be the purpose of giving another horse cover other than to aid him in advancing? Same difference.

ALL I CAN THINK IS THAT HE DROPPED HIS WHIP AND THE HORSE WAS HARD TO HANDLE AND HE FEARED SOMETHING BAD WAS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. (ALTHOUGH TO ME IT SEEMED HE COULD GET THE HORSE HOME SAFELY) I SURE HOPE A SCENARIO ALONG THESE LINES WAS THE ISSUE.
