Heard Leon got 30 days and $500.00 fine and Mitchell got 10 days and $250.00. Fines and days are valid if not appealed.

Leon can't afford to many more set downs between injuries and now this???? Might as well pack up and head back to Vernon. Saratoga is tough enough without sitting out months at a time.  If I was a judge I would of hit  Cushing harder for his on track bull shit!

Stuff happens. But there's no excuse for fighting. It sets a bad precedent. Leon is lucky he has some loyal friends there.

Someone please explain what rule did Cushing break to deserve any punishment? All I saw was a driver doing his best to win. He must have felt he had a very strong horse and wanted to keep him on the lead. If the horse fell apart I could accuse Cushing of driving a poor race but still no violation.

Taunting, yelling comments at Leon and pointing his whip.

A fine for Cushing should be enough.
10 days for what he did seems a bit much unless he’s a repeat offender.

Then again, do we really know what happened behind the scenes?
Did Cushing fight in any way or just get slugged?

There are more than written rules for drivers as there are in lots of things. When Bailey first came up on him was the time for Cushing to urge his horse on and not wait until Bailey was within a step of clearing and then hang him. And then it is not a good thing to taunt another driver (remember Pierce waving to Schmeds in Lexington?)  All fines and suspensions are up to the judge.  The driver in Northfield just got much less.
There is a skill to racing a horse on top.  Too bad cushing has not watched the master at that. He will have another chance to learn when Wally gets back.

Leon officially got 30 days and a $500 fine for not appealing.  Originally was 60/$1000

Gee wonder if another gofundme will be instituted for this sub human Bailey to help pay off his fine plus the nickels and dimes he will lose with his pathetic driving. What a piece of shit.

Mitch did nothing wrong with the drive.  Nothing.  But he did act in an unprofessional manner ON TV... ok yes if you don't really know what your seeing you may not see it. But he definitely deserved some penalty.  As for Leon he's been ice cold as having a rough start to the year but actions like this certainly will not help.  Pack up and go back to Vernon
