Amazing horse comes up positive in June and is announced in January AFTER all Dan Patch voting and syndications are done. Charlie May robbed again. I have always said Holloway was a cheat.
-
Horse trained by him at the Meadows back in June was drugged. Must return the purse money. ($74 K) That is no chicken feed !
-
He only loses 5%
-
Holloway /Rovine have been cheaters for 4 decades
-
this is unfair to all those who purchased shares and booked mares to not have this info that this was a possibility prior

Lets throw more oil in the fire, Joe Holloways is getting the good guy award? Let’s not all forget my post months ago about Joe and his trashy groom Diane Lewis. CHEATS CHEATS CHEATS
-
can we please stop allowing these guys from racing till the end of colt season then take their days in winter missing no time at all
-
This business has gotten worse every year, bet they show up and collect the trophies. They sure wont have class enough to not show up. Harness writers need to rescind the award and give it to Tigers horse he deserves. Good guy award, what a fucking joke. Should give him a pair of Navarros shoes, juice man. Ya got caught Joe, you greedy fuck. Hey Hanover how do you feel every one knowing the horse was chemical wonder. If ya knew this was coming shame on you.

But it’s ok he’s one of the big boys he’s aloud to fucking joke

Unf-ing beautiful, it’s over

Cuomo still has his Emmy.

Another black eye for harness racing, and of course he gets the Gural exception for not racing at 4. How many shares did he get? Good guy award for a cheat, great job harness racing.
-
I guess all you haters forgot that Perfect Sting is a STALLION. And stallions have balls-which are called testicles-which produce TESTOSTERONE. ngc3
Now a Stallion produces about 200 TIMES more testosterone than geldings which produce very little from the adrenal glands.(women from the ovaries) So the question is this--how did PS have such a high overage of testosterone reading?? It looks high-but its less than double a normal reading and would provide no extra benefit as the horse already has plenty. All you haters-immediatly will want to bury the trainer/horse-because thats what you do. However-there may be another very simple answer--when you get a stallion aroused-like serving or teasing a mare--his testosterone levels shoot through the roof. Perhaps thats what happened-they were trying to syndicate him as a stallion and had his sperm tested by serving a mare/dummy.
Lets wait and let the appeals take place and responses--if its nefarious--fine- justice will be served.
I was taught that a person is presumed innocent until proven guitly--the exact opposite what many on this forum practice.
Happy and healthy 2022 to everyone anyway--all the best. tmbz1
-
Agreed Bond. But when it comes to harness racing forget what you have ever been taught. A trainer is guilty until he can find a groom that is a body builder who will admit to pissing in the horses stall.
-
All good points, until you look at the time frame. He wasn't teasing a mare in June. Then look at who is the poor guy that´s being persecuted. Poor old Joe. HE GOT CAUGHT, GET OVER IT. Like everyone else wait till winter do your time and try to do it again. It´s all politics, game over.
-
Why has this been so quiet since June ?? The allowed count is 2000. Probably Not the normal.. Only horse this season that I have seen get a positive much less almost 2x the allowed amount which is probably high to cover active studs.
-
GSAC scumbag.
Im not defending anyone--just pointing out that rushing to judgement and crucifying folk before they have their day in court-THAT is the problem.
Badmouthing before a person has a chance to appeal-- is certainly not positive for ANY industry--its called rushing to judgment-- a favorite pastime for losers and haters.
When tried and convicted-then its time to make comments.

He only loses 5%
How does that work...... Of the purse money -- 100% I assume has to be returned ?
And if so --- does the trainer and driver each pay back their 5%
-
IF APPEALED THERE WILL BE AN AUTOMATIC STAY AND NOTHING WILL HAPPEN UNTIL THE CASE IS DECIDED AND THERE IS A FINAL JUDGEMENT. UNTIL THEN, ALL VERDICTS ARE APPEALABLE AND THEREFORE NOTHING WILL OCCUR TO OTHER TRAINERS/DRIVERS/OWNERS UNTIL THERE IS THAT FINAL JUDGEMENT.
-

Yup, I believe both trainer & driver 5%'s also have to be returned if ruling stands.

AGAIN--not defending anyone--but it seems to me that you Jupiter--know 0 about harness racing or horses-- and are a confirmed hater.
JUNE FYI is the height of the breeding season and when stallions testosterone levels are at their peak. The levels in the breeding season can be 4 times higher than in winter. FACT!! Thats why it would be a mistake to go test PS now because his levels of T would be MUCH lower.
The only sure fire way to know if PS was administered Testosterone--would be to do T/Epitestosterone ratios I believe.
The positive is under appeal--so the truth will come out.
-
I’m also a confirmed hater of cheats . Look at the list of horses going into stud service this year.. I see no other positives..
“The truth will come out “. Get a life. This positive has already been hid for nearly 6 months. 6 months !!!!! Sure didn’t take that long for the second test and DNA….
Roll the rug back and get the leaf blower out.
-
Do you believe they were hauling him to a breeding shed to tease mares? June 26th, positive, and the split was asked for and reaffirmed the positive. 12/31 it´s dropped on fines and suspensions. Timing is a little suspect, Again, you can´t make this shit up.Harness racing at it´s best
-
I can't wait for the USTA to author a detailed article on this
I'm not personally holding my breath

We can all agree Parked-cheats are a huge problem--doesnt it strike you as VERY odd that this positive took 6 months to come to light? That cant be the trainers doing-he doesnt have control of when they call a positive. No--something very odd here and if officials hid this-that is grounds for appeal and Everyone should be concerned about this. Why? well if you come up positive on any anabolic or overage of a steroid-YOU CANNOT RACE UNTIL YOU TEST "CLEAN". If the trainer wasnt informed he had a positive-how the hell was he racing and what protection did the betting public have??
When Baffert came up positive on Betamethasone in the Derby-he had to test clean before his next start in the Preakness.
So what happened here??
This positive--is very strange in many aspects.

-
On average how long after a race does the test come back. Then how long until the trainer is notified of the positive result? Then, is it up to the trainer to request a second test? Just wondering what the normal process is and the time frame?
-
Too many big bucks for this to go very far. Surprised it ever came out.

100% milkshake trainer with every top horse he had in the 90s. Jenna's Beach Boy 100% milkshake horse. Morbidly obese red bloated face He can barely breath when he gets into the cart. His legs are filled with fluid.
-
Holloway /Rovine have been cheaters for 4 decades
Rovine was the front man for PR and brought the milkshake recipe to Holloway and they shaked there way to fame. Then Rovine fled . I would rank Holloway close to or as bad as Gelrod and Pelling for people who ruined the game.
-
MAKINGIT test come back in one week trainer notified appeal for 3 months normal takes time for retest lawers have to put case together can drag on for at least a year allard almost 2yrs you can apply for extensions and keep right on racing
-
Covid delayed it😄😄😄😄 a deal was probably made with Joe and the commission I’ll take the time and days etc just don’t publish until after season is over

My question still remains--If Perfect Sting was positive on 6/26-YOU CANNOT RACE UNTIL YOU TEST NEGATIVE FOR YOUR NEXT START.
So-if trainer was advised of positive-and judges also-what happened for the Meadowlands pace little over a week later for Meadowlands Pace elims? Then also a week later in the finals?? I personally know a trainer who got a testosterone positive-had to be retested and it was a month before all the testing was done and he was allowed to race.Either the testing procedures were very very slow--or they werent done in accordance to the rules.

These people have more excuses than a shirt pocket.. Grooms pissing in the straw. Horses eating bushels of sawdust, people using rogain, and on and on….

Still nothing from the useless trotting assn, where are all the integrity people now. Hey Russell, make a statement!!!! Hey Jeff ya gonna let old Joe race at your tracks????

Joe Holloway belongs in jail with that toothless hillbilly potbelly pig of a groom Diane Lewis.

500 and an apology will take care of everything.
-
amazing how the HRU article has him blaming the testing company
“It’s not Pennsylvania’s fault. It’s not Joe Holloway’s fault. (The split sample test results were) just backed up,” Holloway said.
“Everybody is acting like there’s some nefarious situation going on, you know, and it’s not."
gee, why not tell the public, especially the one's purchasing shares, booking mares and voting for good guy award that this is a pending issue?
-
Always, always, always someone else is to fault .
-
Poor old bloated Joe, nobody at fault, just bad timing. Well he knew of the positive, he asked for the split. They matched, still positive. How is he going to win, what mitigating factors, was Diane drinking testosterone and pissed in the stall? Maybe Joe was trying to bulk himself up. It will be great to watch the bullshit awards night. Poor old bloated Joe waddling, drunk, to get the good guy award. He should be ashamed. The whole industry should be ashamed
-
He and all involved are already winners as they never lost a day of racing. Should be off 30 days and then tested and qualified.
-
We all recognize we won as it has been published. Two samples with high levels of testosterone. Mr.Hollaway doesn't know where the flying testosterones came from. What is known amongst trainers is that a sample sent to the lab has just a number attached, when the results are in question is when they find out and identify the horse and trainer...
The Pennsylvania Commission provides a list of the toxicology labs that they honor to have a split sample sent to. The hair analysis lab in England was not on the list. Perhaps ,once again there will be exceptions.
The few labs when contacted as to how long it would take to have a split sample tested ,the response was fifteen days. Maybe they are in a location that Covid doesn't effect them.
I do agree how lucky Mr.Hollaway is because on the Pennsylvania Commission web site if this sample was taken during out of competition testing the results of a positive would be a penalty of a five thousand dollar fine and 180 days suspension. The horse would have had to be retested
with a clean test in order to race. His camp should be happy they continued to race with out any interruptions.
What is so puzzling is the commissions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey has had such a systemic failure in regards to the three year old colt pacers this year.
What is even more troubling is the media not questioning the protocol of either Commission. If this whole situation was an unknown trainer with a homered the results would be totally different. He would have no money to fight and the media would not support his every effort for truth and due process .
I truly hope the case is solved about the flying testosterones soon , as they need to be grounded. Just wonder why a good guy would not disclose this to the Executive committee of the USHWA before hand
...Transparency is a great thing .
-
How much money was paid to the split sample lab to sit on the results ?
-

why not tell the bettors in a reasonable amount of time, why wait 4 months
-
Is it true that this horse was a nut case in the paddock and very studdy every time he raced? If that is true who in their right mind would give the horse more testosterone? Makes no sense but I am not a lab nor do I have a trainers/drivers license nor am I a vet.
Therefore, maybe you folks know the answer to this!!!!
Thanks!

THIS IS NOT AS CUT AND DRIED AS PEOPLE MAKE IT OUT TO BE
Should we test intact male horses for testosterone?
by Dave Briggs
Should racing commissions test intact male horses for testosterone? The Racing Medication and Testing Consortium (RMTC)
doesn’t think it should.
On Dec. 31, it was reported on the USTA’s fines and suspensions
list that stallion Perfect Sting had tested positive for high levels
of testosterone after a Pennsylvania Sires Stakes race on June
26 at The Meadows. The split sample confirmed high levels of
testosterone (full story here).
On Thursday (Jan. 7), the Paulick Report (full story here) published a story by Ray Paulick quoting RMTC executive director
and chief operating officer Dr. Mary Scollay.
“Stallions can have seasonal highs and lows for testosterone
levels,” Dr. Scollay said. “That’s why RMTC does not recommend
a threshold level for testosterone.”
The Paulick Report story also suggested Pennsylvania may be
one of the few regions that “has a threshold level for testosterone for intact male horses.”
Perfect Sting’s trainer Joe Holloway told HRU he did not give
Perfect Sting testosterone and, apart from requesting the split
sample test as soon as he was informed of the positive —
approximately 10 days after the race — he also opted to have
a hair follicle test done to determine if the studdy pacer had
naturally high levels of testosterone.
“We pulled hair follicles on Dr. Tobin’s recommendation and he
gave me the name of a guy in England who’s at the forefront
in that field. We sent the hair to them and that’s not back yet,”
Holloway said Tuesday (Jan. 4).
“We haven’t heard from them. Dr. Tobin has emailed the guy.
My vet has emailed the guy. We’ve called the guy. Dr. Tobin said,
‘Maybe I shouldn’t have recommended him,’ but he’s the best
and he’s just way backed up. So, Dr. Tobin does get him on the
phone and he says that they’ve been so jammed up with Covid,
‘Do you still want them to do the test?’ That week, the split
sample came back in December and it was high and we’re going
to have to have a hearing. So, we say, ‘Yes, we really need (the
hair follicle) results.’ He said, ‘I’ll move it to the front of the line.’”
Holloway stressed he doesn’t know how it relates to testosterone levels, but Perfect Sting has long been, “a handful in the
paddock… Then, when we test-bred him, he was off the charts.
He’s pretty virile.”
Whether that led to a high testosterone level or something else
is yet to be determined by the Pennsylvania State Horse Racing
Commission when the appeal of Holloway’s 15-day suspension
and $500 fine is heard.

Maybe the blasts of testosterone is why he was crazy ?.
-
The horse was a cheating coward and never wanted to win. Very easy for Joe to give the horse more testosterone to make him wild and crazy as they say he is. NO normal stud acted way he did, Joe gave him more thinking it would help him try and he couldn’t come up positive. Simple as that.

Easy to find this out--the hair sample will PROVE if the horse was given testosterone by injection because it will find the testosterone ester .Horse only makes natural testosterone--not the synthetic stuff.
-

I never really mind when studs start acting wild and crazy.
-
I had a colt years ago, would not try, ton of speed, another horse get to him he just quit. Gave him some winstrol, nothing different. Turned him out for a month. Brought him in trained him, hit him with some liquid testosterone. Turned into a nut, on the track and off. Never gave him anymore Screamed and struck stud brush in the paddock the rest of his life. Some horses only takes a little who knows what bloated Joe did

If a Horse is a cheater the last thing you give him is testosterone. but Maybe he tried it out of desperation.
