Will a rabbit half, etc. from stablemate COMMAND provide the necessary fractions for a CONFEDERATE World Record, or does he even need the help?
-
He ain’t no bulldog Hanover. Greatest horse ever

Bulldog did it at 4 -- 3yr old WR is 46.4. Yes, Bulldog is the fastest overall, but his 3yr old mark was 48.
The greatest ever? That's definitely up for debate.
-
whoa , hold on there with the bulldog best ever, a great horse for sure
there was some pretty good ones before him
a horse named niatross comes to mind
-
Greatest Standardbred pacer of all time is not even up for debate, It is Dan Patch. One can assume he would pace in 1.42 based on what he did over a century ago. 1.55 in 1900? mind boggling. Undefetred in Open co. and at one time literally the most famous athlete alive. free legged is even more astonishing.

Exactly. And others -- Bret Hanover, SBSW, etc. etc. And if you want to go further back how about the horse who forgot time -- Dan Patch. Let's keep in mind Bulldog lost 9 races throughout his career and only attained elite status at 4.

Can't argue with any of that.

If he raced Somebeachsomewher e and both were 3 year olds, SBSW would have jerked his bridle.
Very salient points Jidge
-
It is forecast for 95 degrees tomorrow. Now if this was the big race in October with more money and competition as well as reputation on the line and this weather there would be no problem with a 3 year old world record.
-
I figured he'd be barred from the wagering.

Good point but it's easier to dictate fractions and horse placement with essentially a 2-horse entry -- no serious competition and a short 5 horse field.
-
He opened with 17,800 on him to win with the other four having a total of 150.

I said that backwards.

that's an incredible mile!
-
my only problem was his stablemate went out to be the rabbit
-
I agree , when the other horse did all the heavy lifting.. ? If they weren’t stablemates would he have been driven the same way. Also the few dollars bet on him to win, the bettors got the shaft because he was in it to just put up numbers for Confederate.Let’s see how the year plays out in the upcoming stakes with full fields. I also think he will not supplement to LBJ
-
Great mile today, no lasix
Confederate will 100% NOT be in the Jug
I can assure you of that
-
they will send cannibal to the jug

These people only care about slot and casino welfare and breeding money. They never even considered for 1 second that today's race was a betting race. Very bad.
-
Yeah, pretty obvious he isn't going to the jug, since he will be in the final for 400k in 2 weeks. Really bummed about that, but it's all above my pay grade.

Dan Patch was probably drugged with EPO and everything else back then. No testing.

Larry, you say a lot of stupid things. This has to be the stupidest.
-
IF WHEATHER CONDITIONS ARE RIGHT IN TWO WEEKS FOR FINAL HE MIGHT GO 45/3

And the track was short as well!

I like this one, Kirby! ngc3 ngc3 ngc3

If the track is short it is the same for every one has been the same track for years why do these crazies go on about this the horse is very good no matter who cuts the mile.
-

Exactly. As far as I know it's always been who crosses the line first -- no matter how the race sets up.
-
This race was a time trial without calling it that.
And without a thoroughbred prompter on the inside and outside of him the length of the stretch.
-
Considering they only went 27 for 1st quarter and if he's pushed, he goes 45 and 2 easy IMO.
Even though Bulldog Hanover didn't do it last time he was there. Had he been at peak, he would have probably gone 45 flat on track. It's a drag strip but like you say, it's the same for everyone
-
remember when nilator had a race set up for him at meadowlands ronnie waples goes insane fractions with a claimer to rabbit for the mile

Don't knock Nihilator ever. Still one of the 5 best 3 year olds of all time. check out his resume. It is eye popping.
-
I will say it again till they cover me over. NIHILATOR WOULD HAVE JERKED HIS DADDY"S BRIDLE!!

The track is insanely fast right now.
3 races down -- dropping 2-3 seconds from the previous week starts at Red Mile.

nice mile!!!

Yeah. Don't get me wrong, Confederate is a beast, but that was laughable in terms of set up.
