Aubin was one of the best on the front end. Best memory I had was a night at Gaywood, Aubin was driving an 8 claimer by the name of Also Ran. If memory serves, Also Ran had at one time been a decent horse. I thought Also Ran may have been a bleeder because he had a rep of stopping badly. Aubin zings him from the gate, and at the half, Tony Salvaro says " Also Ran by a football field". Might have been at least 15 lengths. Of course, Also Ran walks home the last quarter hanging on by a length, maybe two. Aubin was all smiles in the winner circle. RIP.
Sincerely, Silent One
