Just watched a 1/9 just get beat in the 4th at the Meadows. 13k was bet in the win pool.
-
Sure. Just keep firing.

Horse had nothing, couldn't even keep up.
No, 1/9 isn't worth betting, imo

BET AGAINST!!!! Make a small or minimal wager if you think he is beatable! If not, wait until the next one! tmbz1

Never ever worth netting a 1-9 unless its a souvenir 2 dollar ticket
-
Do the math. Bet 20 to win at 1/9 ... Do it and win nine times in a row ... Youre up 18 bucks. Now you lose the next one. So you won 9 out of 10 races and you are down 2 bucks. Waste of time and effort.

Very well explained!

Dave Little said a 1/9 horse can sometimes be great value

Maybe if he is part of a pick 5 with 3 bombs
Dave Little is a human disaster , btw

He is the worst, his logic makes no sense.

Sometimes you don't have a choice when the odds don't change to 1/9 until the race is off. Like this one did.

Most of those handicappers know as much as you and I. They are there for show and entertainment.

Then they should have a hot dog eating contest, I am sure he would be very entertaining then.

two things
1. A huge win bet was made very late as he was 3-5 going to the gate
2. Had Arron Merriman up vs a hopped up burkester

Race 4 at M1
Not worth the anxiety
-
Lol. Short answer to ? is no. ngc3
I like dave little, in my mind these guys are almost never given respect but dave is a little bit of a chalker.
Wonder if old man bongo crushed that exacta. Gonna pay $5.20. I had twenty bucks cold on it and thought when handicapping race was a smart play. No thiz is redboarding but trust me when i say id never played that bet if i knew the potential payoff when putting wager in. ngc3
To avoid redboarding again tonight ill give out a few i like later on card. In 6th i used b baillegeron 3 at 15-1. He can train a trotter and last race in canada makes me think he is sitting on a big race. Also gets d miller. I used him in exacta box and on the bottom of triples.
I also like ants marching in 11th at 8-1. Barns horses are ready off layoff.

Occasionally worth the exacta under the whole field.

Of course it is never worth it, but at many harness tracks today you bet a horse at 5/2 when the horses are nearing the starting gate and it is less than even money when the windows close. The pools at most tracks are so small that a few bigger bets blow up the odds. Besides The Meadowlands most harness track pools are pathetically low. Tioga, Saratoga, Vernon, Plainfield, Cumberland, Aces, and others offer pools for exotics that are often less than $1,000. So no 1/9 is never worth it but so are other bets at lots of harness tracks.
