Is Perfect Sting this PERFECT as a sire?

https://ongait.blob.core.windows.net/listingpedigree/d6496e9129554b21a510911f80ca5ca6_PerfectSting.pdf   They are asking a STARTING price of $40,000 for 1 share of him.  He does have excellent breeding on both paternal and maternal lineages.    https://ongait.com/Listings/View/24876?search=

His current stud fee is $10,000. If this share goes for say 45,000 and he lasts fifteen years, that will average 3 grand per year, as it's for one yearly breeding lifetime.  Seems reasonable and if he's a success a bargain.

A long time ago I was told by a smart horseman
Never breed to a horse that was not faster than his sire.

He wasn't faster than his mother either.

Was Captain Treacherous, Huntsville or Downbytheseaside faster than beach?

If you are a breeder and like the stallion that's one thing. Will he continue, will the stud fee stay the same, etc. If you are looking at it as investment that's a completely different story. The share entitles you to one breeding per year, so start your math from there. Don't forget to include the shared revenue from frozen semen. The syndicate manager can give you those numbers. Also, if you don't use the breeding, you can either sell it, or possibly "pool" it. Check and see if there is a pool and what the revenue has been. That will give you all the info you need.

It wound up being a NO SALE!  They started the bid at $40,000 and there must have been no takers.  A Greenshoe breeding on Ongait.com only went for $6600 when the stud fee is $25,000!  https://ongait.com/Listings/View/24924?search=            https://ongait.com/Listings/View/24876?search=search%3Dperfect%2520s

I don't know what is going on at Hanover, but they must have their heads up their asses leaving Greenshoe at $25k.

The Hvr stud fees for 2024 are announced. He absolutely is listed at $25k.

I cannot recall in decent memory where breedings were so discounted between advertised and actual market value.

Hanover Shoe farm will NOT like the fact that breedings are being auctioned off online.    https://hanoverpa.com/greenshoe.html

Speaking about stud fees, remember when Betting Line was hailed by Hanover Shoe farms as the next big thing? Winbak has him now, and in Canada to boot for a modest $5000 CAD stud fee.   https://www.winbakfarm.com/stallions_detail.asp?id=55#:~:text=STUD%20FEE%3A%20%245%2C000%20CAD
