I think they did a nice job at scioto. The place sure looks and smells better...in spots. I remember coming in to drive in the 90s and there would be thousands of cars in the lot. Then in the 2000s there might be a few hundred on s Saturday night. Now its back up again thanks 100% to the casino

have you gone trackside @ Scioto in the past 5 years?  it's a disgrace with grandstands condemned and a little portable tent on the rail.  The casino is, correctly, pretty good.  BUT, you push open the backdoors to head toward the track ?  and, it's like an immediate drop to low class Hollywood hillbilly Haven.  AND, if you're not lucky enough to catch a parking spot on the asphalt - whoa > you push out to the potholed gravel field.  Not appropriate for any car newer than a 1999.

Gonna be hard for Eldorado to up their game over Harrah's @ Hoosier

Caddy. I only stopped by for a minute after i was done for the night.  You're right, once you're outside the casino doors it ain't pretty. The grandstand is an aluminum bleacher. The food stand is awful. I was mainly praising them for upping the purses and at least making it functionable bc without them that place would be condemned right now

It's fake good news.

5,500 casino workers got layoff notices today  at Vernon, Tiogo and Aqueduct.

I think it's headed the other way.

I don't know.

And the actual number let go might be lower.

They're required by fed law to send the notices ahead of the layoff.

hoosier is 110% more efficient, so it likely can continue.  Scioto? -  the sheds on the hill are like something from the 60s - and the gaming public is obviously not welcome.  so, you're perhaps quite right.  Almost wonder why Dayton and Miama haven't talked w/ Ohio Harness about taking 6 mos. turns?

Look what Eldorado turned Pompano racing into.
A despicable organization while Stacy Cahill was running it.

On the other hand, they got rid of Stacy Cahill, thank god, and now have Joe Morris, so maybe not so bad for all the tracks.
