Pa gets bad news for racing
« on: May 01, 2020, 09:01:17 PM »
According to a Pa report today.    Luzerne county (pocono ) and Delaware county (Chester) won’t be released until May 25 and then will have 7-9 weeks clear of 100 or more daily positive virus reports to open.   Appears to be early to mid July.     Gonna be a long road.    Stay safe all

This is great news! The horses can rest, hopefully these scumbag harness fucks are so broke they can't drug the poor horses anymore. I hope all harness folk, especially the PA thieves FUCKING STARVE!

Wow. Thats like saying you hope all Irish people die because of what Timothy Mcveigh did. Not all of us are monsters. Most harness people are just trying to make a living and take good care of their horses. You only hear about the bad ones

Believe me, i am aware of these assholes. I wish them nothing but trouble. They aren't even horsemen. And I truly understand your anger because if i hadn't been in this business for 40 years id feel the same. They are greedy businessmen just looking to turn a profit any means possible. But they are in the minority. I learned to ride a horse at about the same time i learned to walk. I was jogging them at 8. I have spent more nights sleeping in barns than i have in beds. I get along better with horses than i do most people. And I'm telling you, the vast majority of horsemen feel the same way.

Most people knew what they were doing and stayed silent. HONOR AMONG THIEVES, put your head in the sand, a bunch of sheep being led to the slaughter. Can¨t wait till Wolfe says, give the state the money from the casinos, find a new source of money.  Do you really think there will be a lot of politicians  will stick up for horse racing.

Stayed silent??? Are you fucking kidding. They were stealing money from the honest ones. We were constantly bitching about it but were always told there was nothing they could do bc there were no positive tests. Honor among thieves. Bullshit. We hate them as much as everyone else and are rejoicing at their downfall.

I’ve been in the biz for 40 years. 35 as a trainer and I can honestly say I’m glad they finally got the bad guys. I’ve seen it all from dragons lair getting I should say the Beatles song famous line  I get by with a ———  help ———  — ————-   In paddock. Now this great fbi investigation   Now for once again horsemen ship will raise to the top.  The horsemen I know take better care of there horses than they do them selfs  I too spent nights at the barn   Even dosing a horse that collapsed with water and electrolytes  this is after vets spent hours and many jugs on him.    For him to final get up about 4 am was Such a great feeling than the same race again and win was even better this is just saying that most Horsemen are great people just want to work make a nice living and they care so much for their animals but we do need therapeutic drugs in the business just to keep Horses going and this is where most people don’t understand that don’t know the business thing banamine overage positive is a bad thing It’s just a therapeutic drug To help Horses overcome some minor soreness but just tying up or minor injury so this is why they have tolerances on certain drugs and it should be actually locked up or carefully so we could use even better things just to maintain our horses it’s like a human being taking an aspirin for a headache are usually don’t respond to this website because there’s so many wannabes if you would go to any track and just watch you receive a hard effort that people put in every day and if you think it’s easy to drive one try to do it yourself specially if you got a bad acting horse that kicks or away or it will scare the shit out of 99% of the people that are on the site so getting kicked stepped on it with the shoe it’s just part of the game most of the drivers just suck it up and go on they got heart just as good as most horses Of course you get a P hard one once in while that’s when they need to find a new ZIP Code good luck to all and may we be back Reison. soon

It has to do with virus cases.
Western PA affected less than Wilkes Barre
Meadows will open first

Not unless Pittsburgh´s cases drop more, All still has to be approved by Gov. Just hope the cases don´t explode other places after they open things up, we will be right back where we started.

the track has better government that does all they can for the horseman instead of it being a club

Pittsburgh has nothing to do with the Meadows.

Pittsburgh is Allegheny County.

The Meadows is in Washington County with only 118 cases & 2 deaths.

YEP and they are opening in regions, NOT by county. They have tested about 650 people in Washington County.Have you read the Govs orders, He is NOT going to open a county in the middle of counties that are NOT open. Lets see how this plays out. I am sure they will have a problem with ship ins, Do NOT think they will let OHIO horses race there.

NO they are opening by Counties, yes the counties are grouped in the north & the north central, but they could open a group like Fayette, Greene, Somerset, Washington & Westmoreland.

Look at any story and they say - Governor Tom Wolf addresses reopening of 24 Pennsylvania counties

Wolf said.

These are the counties that will be reopened first: Bradford, Cameron, Centre, Clarion, Clearfield, Clinton, Crawford, Elk, Erie, Forest, Jefferson, Lawrence, Lycoming, McKean, Mercer, Montour, Northumberland, Potter, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Union, Venango, and Warren.

“We Pennsylvanians have flattened the curve," Wolf said.

“We have many areas that are having few or no new cases,” Wolf added.

Wolf said he is looking at other counties to move into the yellow zone, including southwestern Pennsylvania and some in southcentral Pennsylvania. He didn’t specify a date as to when a decision would be made on the next round of counties.
