From a very reliable source, Pocono was not aware of the Ohio situation until after they accepted his entries.  They now know and they will decide whether they are going to accept future entries.  We will see if they side with integrity.

A move towards doing the right thing!  If PA denies entries than a trainer will finally have to suffer the consequences for his or her actions.  That would be a step in the right direction.  PA should be trying to avoid any negative/controversial devious now that state funding is coming into the spotlight again.

Trainer Michael Dowdall walked onto the race track after race 5 on 12/10/16 and began shouting obscenities and threatened bodily harm to a driver as the horses pulled up by the paddock. Four races later, after race 9 he entered the drivers room and began taunting and provoking the same driver causing a physical altercation. This type of intimidation can affect the integrity of racing. Mr. Dowdall`s conduct was unprofessional and his action was against the best interest of racing. He will be on probation for the year of 2017. O.S.R.C.-3769-12-26(A)(10) 12-28 12-99 3769-14-28(C) 14-29(A) 14-99 3769-17-29(A)(5)(6)(7)&(10) 17-99 Subject is barred from all grounds governed by the OSRC during his suspension. Any horses under subject’s care that he wants to transfer must be approved by the judges or the OSRC.

He did not give it to the horse as the investigators showed up and saw him with a dose syringe ready to put in the mouth of the horse. Both of his horses(Love Forbidden and Believeinthespiri t were scratched). The investigators then started a search of his area and vehicle and also of his person. Mr. Dowdall failed to cooperate with the investigators when asked to show them what he had in his sweater pocket. He 1st pulled out a cell phone and then put his hand back into his pocket. When asked what else he had in his pocket, he refused to take his hand out of his pocket or turn the pocket inside out. Mr. Dowdall is fined $1000.00 and is suspended(full)15 days starting on May,3rd 2018 and continuing through May, 17th 2018. Mr. Dowdall may not transfer any horses he owns or trains without the approval of the judges at Pocono Downs or with The State Horse Racing Commission. During this suspension he and all horses owned and trained by him are barred from all tracks under the jurisdiction.
