Mohawk Monday
« on: April 22, 2019, 12:01:44 PM »
Trying the 2 in the second. The longer price of this barns. Van usually gets trotters straightened out so I often play a new recruit to this barn the second or third time out when the trotter breaks in his first start. Have done fairly well when using this angle over the last 3 or 4 yrs since the return is usually pretty good. Will also throw in an exacta bx 2 with 347.

Mike likes to make a big late move so as long as the 2 is moving well going into the final turn watch out!

Good luck

Nice call Dalrae tmbz1How about Rozema & Portuondo talking about Race #7 after the race lol. Basically called it a barn job lol. Good for them telling it how it is... Horse was 5-1 with a minute to post and should have been 100-1 ... Love how they said a horse came to the outside and stopped in everyones face but im sure it wasn't planned... tmbz1

Second time in almost 200 starts lifetime hes gone wire to wire and first time since 2013

If there were any transparency, they should have to explain how they knocked 3 seconds off the last 5 starts in the same class and suddenly found the front end.

But really when no one leaves and they went 58to the half what do you expect from Drury he drives the crap out of everything he gets.even that nag that horse beat me for 1100 with a nose in Jan I believe his record was 2 wins for 200 starts now it's three

It's reached the point at mohawk where if you want to play p4's and p5's you'd have to handicap to include a pick or two of a horse that only track insiders would use. Its more common on Tues and Thursday. Stakes cards I don't see it often.

Also note this frequently occurs in races that overlap s p5 and p4 or both p4's effectively eliminating the noninsiders from not 1 but two of the major nightly pools. So for example, this occuring in the 7th race wipes out most of the betting public on both p4s.

Certainly something to watch and consider especially if your sinking more than a few bucks into these wagers. I won't play p5's at mohawk other than stakes cards. Even p4's Ive significantly reduced what I'm willing to chance through a wagers. Big pool wagers are the ones to watch closely.

IMHO races that look fishy often haven't a horse go to the top and race virtually uncontested. It's a safeguard against another horse or driver inadvertantly interfering with the prearranged outcome.

smalltimer, welcome to harness racing, I assume by your comments you are new to the sport
you are correct drury does drive the piss out of most horses, except apparently this one
in his last 6 charted lines( and likely more) the horse has gotten away as follows, 10,9,6,9,8,9 most double digits lengths from the leader
yet Monday he goes to the front and drops about 3 seconds from his recent miles
no equipment changes, no addition of lasix, not a 3 hole trip and slide up the rail but a front end wire to wire crushing at  the lowest odds he has been in months
its called charity, the boys tell barry and jonathan that this is their week so have him and ready  and bet a few dollars
