“We elected to enter Lindy The Great in the Mt. Hope sale on the advice of partner John Smucker,” Julie Miller explained. “He has a lot of experience with Roadsters. He felt it would be a great career for Lindy The Great.
“He understands what type of individual it takes to be competitive in the industry,” Julie added. “John believed that Lindy’s attributes would be tailored for this discipline. So far, I believe he is right. We had had a lot of interest and buzz circulating around Lindy. It’s going to be exciting to see Lindy in the sale ring!”

The Roadster market is hot as hell. Been for years at this point. Probably where he’s most valuable. Heck RC Royalty was bought from a commercial farm to breed mostly to roadster horses.

RC Royalty is overseas breeding mares, none of which are amish or roadster horses. Ray still owns him as well. You must be thinking of Royalty for Life?

Lindy bringing at least 250,000
The Amish have long dollars at this auction.
This auction is their super bowl

I would not doubt it. And, in the Standardbred race/breeding market, he would struggle to bring $50K.

Know a bidder that is GOING HIGHER THAN $250,000. He's guessing $500,000

Watching Yellowstone, a damn TV show taught me the value of non-racing horses, cattle even for the rodeo, like you've mentioned in type pricing and even higher.
Here at PLOP, the education never ends! Never accuse me of saying I know everything, and on some subjects, anything, LOL, but I'm, we are always willing to learn. ;D

You are correct, I must be getting old lol

If the buyer has thoughts of racing along with serving as a sire for both roadsters and racing, the dollar amount will get stupid in a hurry!

$145K ! Fooled me! You never know until you go!

Look at Lordy Lordy last year. Horse could not get around an oval without terrorizing all in his way. Sold for $1.6M USD at last years sale.
