I suppose what ai don’t understand is how much talking I see in warm-ups and fines are not handed out. Yet regularly they’re drivers that do get fined. Are the judges reading lips or is this another selective enforcement situation?

most of the chit-chat that I see is immediately after the finish line.  It's just human nature to be revved up down the stretch and if you win ... being xcited and- if you lose, giving a buddy an atta-boy or a dagnabit.

now, some of the big time drivers likely believe it's not a big deal to flip a hundo for the fun of yik-yak ... on the other hand, some of the guys that rarely get a drive are perhaps caught up in the adrenaline of racing only once or twice a night.  Likely not a good spend to pay a hundred dollars to say, 'Way to go'- to one of the big time drivers.

I was told it was about the optics from the grandstand, when I got my 50.00 fine in the 60's. Maybe they noticed that nobody is in the grandstands anymore. Just tell the camera people not to film people talking.

Sources found out that the Meadowlands is putting partitions up in the driver's lounge so there can be no planning for the later races. Plus talking on the racetrack fines will be doubled. management wants total integrity on and off the track

Total integrity with partitions at the Meadowlands, really? I guess Jason and Jeff never heard of text messaging, runners, email or carrier pigeon for that matter? They should worry more about the optics their drag queen show will lead to. I’m sure a lot of parents will be keeping their younger kids away from the new “Birdcage”.
