The goal was a world Record --- you don't leave that in the hands of horsemen to set the proper fractions for you.
He got beat --- it happens --- takes nothing away from what he has accomplished criss crossing the country this year.

I always thought the goal was to win the race. If world record comes with that then thats fine. Winning is more important then breaking a world record that you already own. Stupid move by trainer. Can't blame Dunn if thats what trainer told him to do.

Allywag Hanover is a monster in his own right, In a race like this where Allywag didnt have to deal with a shuffle or getting parked, he could flaunt his stuff. He is just as fast as Bulldog. People forgot about him as his dumb owners never sent the payments in for about 3 big stakes....but that actually helped him here. He is the fresher horse. Do not forget without Bulldog in these fields, Allywag would be dominating this group again and headed to the a 2nd straight aged pacer of the year. Bulldog is the best but Allywa is going to be back next year and is likely going to dominate them as the 3yo crop coming back at 4 looks weak.

So much for the horse they cant pull up after the race until the 1/2. If you go to post often enough enough you'll get beat. Happens many times when the hype is high…. Allwag was on the engine in post parade.

fyi, if for some reason owners/trainer of bulldog wanted a new record so be it, not like the cash difference between first and second matters to them

Someone said by Bulldog getting beat he will not race next year. I see him coming back, they can draw him 2 x a week all winter and have plenty of semen to cover 100 mares. Probably depends on how he does in his last. 2 races this year. Fun horse to watch….

I DON'T CLAIM TO BE AN EXPERT BUT I'M JUST SAYIN IN MY OPINION I THINK ANY HORSES THAT ARE GOING CRAZY FAST TIMES LIKE PRETTY MUCH MOST OF THE HORSES IN BULLDOGS RACE ARE PROBABLY GETTING DRUGS. NOW BEFORE YA'LL SHOOT ME, I HAVE NO EXPERIECE OTHER THAN WATCHING RACES FOR A FAN FOR ABOUT 12 YEARS. I JUST THINK THERE HAS TO BE DRUGS INVOLVED TO BE ABLE TO GO THAT FAST. ITS THE SAME THING IN THE OLYMPICS. WHEN ANY OF THE ATHLETES PREFORM SOMETHING AMAZING, ITS USUALLY BECAUSE THEY'VE BEEN JACKED UP ON PED'S. AGAIN JUST MY OPINION.

turns out everyone in the field was on peds
look at it logically, if you think or know some trainers are using peds but their horses are getting beat than that means the guys beating them are also using peds or their horses are some fuckin great
now to be clear there are ways to help a horse that does not cross the line and that is fine
same as human athletes today the need some additives to train etc but that doesn't mean they are using "steroids" or "peds" just similar to help them train hard and recover
now if you are using shit to mask pain or injuries on a horse that is a different story
