A horse can get away from anyone...Pretty sure he wasn't trying to hurt anyone!  Thats why they dont have a hubrail anymore!!!!!

I think Joe knows how to drive a horse by now. Horse just acting stupid - do you really think some leather lines and 150lbs of Joey are gonna hold ANY horse who wants to get away....good luck with that logic

That’s why there is no hubrail.    Take the horse to inside or outside.  Instead he drove up inside other horses and could have put them at Risk.    He’s a decent driver that made a wrong decision.

Looked like Joe B had no control of his horse with his handholds in his lap and ended up driving inside everyone and changing the race.    Anyone see it ?  Wonder if he will be fined ?

I would like to see one get away from any of you halfwits in here during a race and see what would happen! I am not a Joe B fan but a runaway isn't fun!  If it would have happened to any of you it would have been a 9 car pile up and every horse and driver would have been pulling limestone from their teeth and skin! He did what he needed to do to get out of the way! If they fine him its bullshit!

Wake up, buttwad. If the twerp would sit up a little and move his handholds up a foot, he wouldn't get run away with. BTW, the horse wasnt running away, it was pacing. BIG difference. A real runaway is a different matter entirely.

Right on.. cant hold a horse with your hands in your lap..

I never drove in a race, so i need a little help here...
i saw JB tugging on the lines in this lap, alternating left, right, left, etc.
are you saying he had no control of the horse when he pushed his way inside?
What are the rules of the road when that happens?
What should he have done?

you could tell before the 1/4 that horse was loaded/sharp and wanted no part of sitting in a hole
more amazing is the announcer never really makes mention of what was going on

He was see-saw'ing the bit in the horses mouth trying to get him to respect it. The underlying problem was that Joe had the hand holds entirely too far back to hold his horse due to the slower fractions that that class was going.  The golden child wont learn until he gets sling-shotted one day out of the bike!
