Very good Amish man

Can't figure out how he keeps owners. His results for such a large stable are amongst the lowest.

The 4m and top 10 is due to number of horses and number of starts. Break that down to a more meaningful number like earnings per start, he is 3,215 a start. Burke at the top with starts gets a 4,525 per start average. But you go down the list of other top trainers, many with fewer horses, fewer starts but average 6k-10k a start. You start putting those numbers together Erv falls into that 30 range and not top 10. Just another way to look at it. Bigger stable, more starts, get higher earnings. One thing it means winning less or having less quality grand circuit horses. Even with such a large stable of better than most horses top to bottom than many trainers get to train.
