$225,000 for this yearling filly seems likely.

A nice commission is coming for the sales company on this one.........more money doesn't guarantee success. Over the last five years at the Standardbred Horse Sale there have been 43 horses which sold for $300,000 or more and to date (as of 10/30/22) just six have earned over their purchase price. Of course that includes a group of horses from ages 2 through 6, so the younger horses haven't had the same opportunity as the older ones, but the bottom line is 14 percent have produced a "profit" over time, not including the cost of board and training.

Price is going to depend a lot on how she looks as an individual not just who she is.  I'd be willing to bet that whatever she costs they change her name.  Caroline Kountry does not ring any bells for me.

estimate $250 but it could get crazy just because of who she was
i think some people will back off based on her maternal pedigree
no disputing her ability on the track though

Very sobering stats...and especially the part about not including the cost of board, training (and one can add transportation, staking and vet.)  If you buy a big ticket yearling, from the day the hammer falls till  mid-year of the 3 year old year (when you really know if you have something), can take you $100,000 easily if you run the horse in stakes etc.

I’ll say $210.  For often than not great mates don’t live up to the standard of what they think they should be   Especially mares who have raced as long and as hard as she had.  Not to mention she’s a Tintin in America mare.

shout out
