Shadows rolls and super high heads with bow-tight overchecks are becoming a thing of the past.
IMHO
It makes a difference who is driving,
Trainers that drove(the old days)wanted more control and safety.
Thus the shadow rolls, high heads, Quit Davis bits, double twisted wire driving bits, and short hobbles.
Put up a catch driver and take all that stuff off, and leave the hand holds set for the jog cart.
Saftey be damed!
There is a want to be catch driver at every table at every track kitchen.
I am just an old horse trainer still going around in circles. Sometimes Fast. Sometimes Half-Fast.
