We just need to think like they do and guees what crap there gonna pull even then we might be wrong .I've looked at it I'm almost to the conclusion to skip this week most races are same as friday and I didn't  fare well in several key races and pic 4 was only worth 50$

Thanks for the program epm.

Smalltimer -- p4s,5 and 6 appear tough to hit. I'm going to watch and may even play a few straight $10 exactas.

I handicapped Saturdays but didn't bet. Outside of the $9.60 winner from the 3 horse field in the second I didn't pick another on top.
Did get a laugh out of a couple of 1/5 horses going up in flames. Neither 1/5 horses looked that well meant in the stretch. ngc3

Tough too handicap a track you never follow and have little insight into.

Virgin Eyes was an interesting heavy chalk that went down in flames. Mcgee opted off for the 4 which looked a lot worse on paper. And it's not like he didn't drive for the trainer of the 5, as he literally won the 4th race for the trainer.

Cal-Expo is a think outside of the box track anyway but the logistics of a short week make it that much harder.

Definitely a good card to make note for lightly driving horses from the friday and saturday cards.

Cal Expo- where nothing appears logical.
Only way I would win a Pick4 is if I hit the All button for every race.

I doubt I'm giving away much edge by saying this, but the .20 base wager allows for a lot more spreading. If I play the sequence I'm always have All in every leg on different tickets. It's either that or straight punches for sequences that look dead locks.

Thanks.

I think you're right.

You are not giving away much of an edge saying that.

Only 2 turn track where post 10 has the highest win %.
Place is wacko.

But if you do that then u get three favors and it pays 40 .and your total investment  is more than triple your payout  stick  with your guns and stay with your key  horse win or lose your cheaper ticket or play for $1 not 20 cents .at least then if it's short u get ×5 not just once just my thought

That's the same idea that used to be for other smaller  tracks  like freehold ,or monti and esp maywood back in the day if you over spend you never recover ur money unless you get 2 bombs  and most are dead in the pool ......

Post by: Smalltimer7932 on March 31, 2020, 08:43:56 AM
Today's races look the same as friday I'll be watching  unless I see a one with odds that has as shot with the pools inflated  payout are drastically  changed in the last 2mins in perfecta and win payoffs

Dingus. POST 10 %% high there because many of their opens stick the heavy fave outside in 10 post trying to handicap 5 horseraces...almo st always wins.

Re: tonight's tuesday card...HANDLE IS GONNA BE TEMPTING..I GOTTA TELL YA.  but you still have to believe in program too to plsy with any $$confidence.

And after looking at it...I cant get an edge on any of 10 races...I want to..just cant find just the right set up...maybe a scratch or two shows up to 'loosen things' tonight like it did big price #8 in the 8th last sat night ((that and a big field stopping break))  AND, AND I HATE TO ADMIT IT..but I CAN see a 13 races in '20 horse..or two winning again tonight.

SO...outside of some scratch action, a quality-control decision for tue night...sit it out and watch.  Quality Handle gonna tease me, but will wait 'til burning hole in my pocket cash for wednesday night's card.  10 more then.

see you for that sac downs midweek celebration.

gotta be one or two events wed night we all can jump on

Jc is right I dont see an edge either and see horses repeating just simply they are better than the ones they race maybe a few upsets bye 2,or3rd choice unless race goes badly I dont see big  bombs I'll be watching unless I see good odds on someone's  horse good luck to all

race 1
3-speed ball who normally stops and goes around :56/57 was game last start and beat a length in :54. watching the replay the winner went by him at top of stretch and then this horse hung with him off wheel... Which effort today coming off racing on SATURDAY ??
6-looks like the big favorite, drops in class.. been in the 4 claimer which is a solid bunch of horses. (4 claimer is race 2 today) Last time he was in for 3k he left from 9 hole, tucked in then came first up to get beat 1/2 length.

**Exacta 36/3567    6/357       DD  36 / 2

Race 2
1- was an easy winner with an easy trip.... steps up in class but with his early speed should be able to ride the rail for a long way
3-probably the biggest odds in field. was shuffled back last week in with same bunch of horses. Last week second quarter went in 30.1    the fact this horse closed into a fast back half, will try in doubles as he will be the price...
4/6 - these two knock heads every week, think there will be more speed in this race with the rail and 5 horse.

** Hoping I'm live after the first and let the double ride on the 3.... if I lose the first, will probably bet 3 win.

Race 3
1-looks like the big favorite. was second in this group last week first up.... winner moved out of class
3-two starts back he came first up and won despite a slow second quarter. Last start, I have no idea if the horse was no good or what but Kennedy sat a couple of lengths behind some horses and never made a move finishing 6th beaten 6 lengths. Don't know what to make of last week.... Looking for the two starts ago horse.

**  exacta 1/3 box  straight 1-3   win on 3 if 5-1 or higher   pick 3  13/14/67 & 1/14/67

Somebody remind me, at CalX does post 10 start on the outside or trailing behind the 1, 2 etc.?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

outside

But about the only 10 hole you,ll see is a short field open with a horse assigned the outside. And they usually win.

Judging by the first race, you have to go by looks on the track rather than numbers in the program.
I thought 5 looked like shit in parade.

Really? He looked ok to me. 2 was on the muscle and 5 was a little too. I thought 8 looked good too, but none looked good on paper to me so I just bet savers on them and was lucky to make a little.
I didn't watch them score down I thought he looked gimpy in the parade, but I agree with you on the 2 I didn't like him on paper much but looked sharp and picked up Plano.

Fuck this race my horse got room with the breaker and still was no good.

Well, I guess if you play drivers, and exacta box Plano and Roland, you had a nice $300 exacta for $2 in the 10th.

Wasn't the idea of switching to Tuesday and Wednesday that they'd get a boost in wagering? Not sure of the full card handle but a quick look at the straight bet wagering for each race looks about the same for the Saturday cards, if not even a bit lighter.
