Follow the lead of Santa Aniter and eliminate race day medications all together. Bleeders are not race horses. Get it the "L" out of racing
-
Yep, it should be banded. I laugh when I hear whorsemen say it doesn't improve performance. Then why use it? to improve performance

"the lead of Santa Aniter" (I like that, Trevor!) ain't worth the paper its written on. Del Mar, Los Al and the owners and trainers out there said "no lasix, no racing."
Plopsters on this worthless forum have to stop believing the Bretibart Retards like Mikey the Soup, Lice Man or Hammer Head. Although Agent Orange once said, "I love the poorly educated," that is not a long-term recipe for success. Until next time, retards.......... ..............HEI L HITLER!!

Lasix is a great drug and does nothing but help the horse.
-
This move to ban all raceday meds, the use of shock wave, joint injections, comprehensive and transparent Vet. logs... is a strategy needed in California to fight off a possible ballot initiative, banning horse racing. There are thousands of freaks with money and influence in California, enough to generate the 5% population signatures needed to put it to the voters. if they get an initiative on the next general election, you could see all horse racing in California outlawed.
Stronach and company will have a formidable foe going forward. The timeliness of the racetrack fatalities only underscores the groups looking to outlaw racing.
-
NOW THAT WE CAN BET ON SPORTS, BANDING HORSE RACING WONT HURT A BIT

Then stop breeding them!
-
They just delayed the March 22nd opening of Santa Anita because of the banding of lasix, trust me,LASIX WILL BE BACK WHEN Santa Anita opens again
-
Banning Lasix is pointless! Worry about the felons and cheaters!
-
In the last 27 years, how many horses racing on lasix won The Hambletonian? None. Lasix has been banned since 1991.

Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, has also voiced their agreement with these new changes. Joe Harper, CEO said, “Del Mar has and will continue to support discussions and implementation of measures that enhance the safety and welfare of our athletes. We are committed to working with Santa Anita, The Stronach Group and other industry stakeholders to continue to improve.”
A similar effort by Ed Allred, owner of Los Alamitos, to impose house rules at his track – hair testing of horses that led to a drug disqualification – was shot down in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2016. A judge said the rules were not in accordance with California Horse Racing Board regulations in place at the time.

Great idea to follow the lead of Santa anita. HOW MANY HORSE DEATHS HAVE THEY HAD SINCE OPENING? over 20..... did lasix cause that? Should we ban all the otc meds for humans as well? If you hate the sport so much, dont watch it.....
-
No more 5-7500 claimers if it’s banned
-
Get ready for 5 horse fields and 5 or 6 races a day.. ;D

People need to get past the banning of lasix as the focus of the California initiative. It is only one component of a pro-active movement to advance racing. Nobody is claiming the removal of lasix will clean-up racing. It is more of a show of good faith in a greater cause. Reforming racing by racing before anti-racing groups do. To take the tools to be used against racing away from the enemies. Of course there will be some people and horses negatively affected by these changes but, the entirety of racing will be in a better position to grow.
-
Exactly, Mr. Campbell. A tough position to defend.

It's great watching the resident ass clowns, Mikey the Soup, Lice Man and The Extorter, flap their retarded gums about something they know nothing about.
FYI, here are the facts, dickheads:
1. Lasix at Santa Anita is cut from 10 cc's max to 5 cc's. Lasix is still available.
2. Del Mar and Los Al WILL NOT PROHIBIT lasix.
3. Timmy Ritvo (who I remember when he was terrible jockey) said "Everybody recognizes that lasix has nothing to do with the breakdowns." (this must really hurt Mikey the Soup!)
Don't hurt yourself, meatheads! Lasix in harness vs. lasix in runners is night and day difference. I don't care one way or the other. Just get the facts straight, ladies. Until next time, darlings........H EIL HITLER!!
-
I am surprised it took the resident scumbag so long to chime in. This issue is beyond your demented and narowinded agenda. Once you catch up, feel free to go fuck yourself.

I dont think many would argue that Lasix does NOT help bleeders or diminish EIPH-it does.
The problem--and its a very big one-is that when North America introduced Lasix into racing-it started a downhill slide in Public Perception of the health of racing.
North American Racing basically said--we need drugs to keep horses racing.
This is like providing fuel for a large fire-for opponents of Horse Racing and well supported by Casino operators-who see this as an opportunity to eliminate a gambling rival-and reap Billions in added gambling profits.
HONG KONG,ALL OF EUROPE AND SCANDINAVIA,NEW ZEALAND AND AUSTRALIA AND SOUTH AMERICA--do NOT-let horses race on lasix and have strong anti drug views and penalties.
North America-got it wrong-bigtime.
You DO NOT need Lasix to race successfully -proven for centuries in other racing jurisdictions.
Now however-its ingrained in American racing-and Vets make a fortune peddling it. These have a vested interest in keeping it going.
Im against Lasix totally--but its not an easy fix-however I really think it needs to be done in order for racing to reclaim some of its lost public perception in integrity and views on drugs.

a few things that drove me away from yr
they allowed Lasix which did affect performances no matter what the experts say.
they started tinklering with a solid product, moving the finish line, racing at strange distances from 9.16 of a mile to 1 1/16 mile
I along with most of their heavy hitters stopped coming.
the product became erratic and thus unbettable . they attempted to attract more customers with higher payoffs but succeeded in abandoning their core base

Is it a masking agent?

i STARTED TO LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF HORSES THAT WERE ON LASIX.
STATS DON`T LIE.
Horses on lasix %
WEG this weekend 52%
Yonkers this weekend 81%
Allard horses 100%
Why such a big disparity

yo, yo, Puke,
Obviously you are related to that other balloon head, Mikey the Soup. Two idiots. The reason for the disparity is that the air in Canada is fresher. ngc3 ngc3 ngc3
But, as Mikey the Soup claimed, "lasix breaks bones!" ngc3 ngc3 ngc3 Complete moron.
Bottom line, lasix is a performance enhancer. Period. For most horses. Allard is no dummy. Only the idiots on this worthless forum like you, Mikey the Soup, Lice Man, The Extorter and Hammer Head are dummies. Until next time, retards.......... ....HEIL HITLER!!

If you bleed twice in either Australia or New Zealand your horse is banned for life.may be a reason so many are bought and shipped here

Yes down under horses that have bled right out of both nostrils after a race are at risk of being retired-so are then sold to North America because they know Lasix will improve their performance and they start fresh.
The REAL reason why many are sold here-is that the Australian and NZ $ is 25-35% less than the US $-so you can pick up a nice horse for less money.
